Red Hood Officially Gets a New Costume in Batman #148 (For Better or For Worse) Chip Zdarsky
Jason's new Red Hood outfit keeps his usual upper body armor with his characteristic red bat-like chest form. But what really gives the hero an aspirational new look is the other design details. One of the most daring features of the redesign is the mostly brown leather cut-off jacket with a black hood, which is conspicuously matched to the top body armor. Red-soled black combat boots reminiscent of Louboutins and red-striped black Adidas-style track pants are other new additions.
Although this costume is original, it really incorporates some of the finest features from Red Hood's past designs. This covers the brown leather jacket Jason wore in the Red Hood and Outlaws series, the literal hood from the continuous series Red Hood: The Hill, the body armor Task Force Z used, and the brilliant red eyes that have surfaced in past editions. Still, the wardrobe isn't totally based on earlier styles. The new outfit features several street-wear inspirations; the track trousers are maybe the most obvious addition.
Red Hood's latest blunder has formally shown why he shouldn't use guns, and now Robin will have to pay for Jason's mistake.
Batman #148 by Chip Zdarsky, Jorge Jiménez, and Tomeu Morey might be the most divisive piece in Zdarsky's run since it brings a significant change in Red Hood's always changing narrative. With the success of their plot depending on Red Hood dying (temporally), the Bat-Family returns in this issue following their multi-issue split to confront Failsafe.
The artistic choice to once more kill Jason Todd and bring him back in such a depressing manner has drawn mixed reviews. The divided reaction of this issue has also been influenced by Red Hood's new attire, which some adore and others despise.
Inspired by New Red Hood costumes, Jason Todd Cosplayers also have a brutal new scene to recreate.
Though some fans are not happy with Red Hood's new style, many others are liking it, especially with the inclusion of the track trousers, which are particular to this version of the character. More accessible than Red Hood's armor-heavy designs, this outfit is fantastic inspiration for fans wishing to spicify their Jason Todd Cosplays or for those seeking a design with more street-wear aspects.
Since Red Hood died in this new suit, Cosplays—which recreate the second Robin's death scene—would be ideal for producing some original and fresh Jason Todd death scenes as they are morbidly famous.
Red Hood's New Costume is the ideal mix of Jason's Old Looks, but the question still remains: Is this look fire, or just burned?
Officially, Red Hood has had a fresh appearance in mainstream continuity, which perfectly combines his earlier creations. Still, one issue takes central stage: Is this look fire, or does it need to be burned? One thing is for sure: for Jason Todd cosplayers, this new outfit creates a world of possibilities regardless of their love or detest of it.
Since Red Hood passed in this new Costume, cosplays—which are disturbingly well-known for recreating the second Robin's death scene—would be ideal for generating some original and fresh Jason Todd death scenarios.
Right now DC Comics has Batman #148 on hand!
