At the end of season 2, we see Angya next to the other 6 Dwarven Rings! Prince Durin IV, Princess Disa, and Narvi are all near these Rings. Durin IV looks at the Rings intently, which suggests big things coming in season 3. The fate of Khazad-dûm rests on his shoulders. He's got big challenges. There's a need to defend Khazad-dûm, share his father's rings to other Dwarf-lords, and confront his brother who wants to become the king. All of this is why it seems that Durin IV will use Angya in season 3.

Temptation of Power

Why would Durin IV even think of using this Ring? Well, war is costly. Defending against Sauron's Orc army will require huge resources. We know Khazad-dûm stands strong into the Third Age, as told in Tolkien's books, and Angya might just help secure those resources. He needs to give the remaining rings to the Dwarf-lords, but keeping all that Mithril will be tricky! To maintain power in Khazad-dûm and prove his strength he will have to control his greedy side!

Impact of the Ring

Tolkien's writing didn't give us a ton of details about what happens with Angya after Durin III gets it. So, the writers can really add in the story for The Rings of Power! It’s likely Durin IV wielding Angya will bring big riches to Khazad-dûm. However, this greed could impact their relationship with everyone else in Middle-earth.

Here is something important to remember. Even with a Ring of Power it is almost impossible for Sauron to completely control a Dwarf. The rings fueled greed. Durin IV taking Angya could mean even more. This power leads Durin IV into greed that destroys Khazad-dûm, the very reason this place had an awesome name Durin's Bane. His greedy actions are what could start a split between the Dwarves and all other races in Middle-earth. The story shows the writers are playing with an intriguing take that really fits in the overall spirit and power of Tolkien's vision and how these Rings of Power bring chaos!

Season 2 was an absolute success for Amazon! There are a lot of surprises in store. If Durin IV decides to grab Angya then what his father set into motion, will continue and lead to his people's ruin! For any fans looking forward to another Rings of Power season. Make sure to pay close attention as it's been hinted who is the next ruler.
