Does House of the Dragon Suggest Daenerys Is More Important Than Jon Snow?
The ending of House of the Dragon season 2, and how they show Daenerys, makes some people think Jon Snow has become a little unimportant. And since Jon is super-popular among fans - there are lots of reasons why they would want to know!
Where Does the "Prince That Was Promised" Prophecy Come Into It?
- The "Prince That Was Promised" is one of those big prophecies. They thought Jon Snow might be the one - you know, a hero who would bring a big battle to a close. Jon fulfilled a ton of criteria, including uniting a bunch of people to defeat the White Walkers.
- And that was exactly what was promised, a fight against the Night King, right?
- The prophecy might have a lot to do with Daenerys, too! House of the Dragon seemed to be telling us that Daenerys was more likely to be the "Prince That Was Promised." And why not? The big red comet shows up when she’s around - this is mentioned in the prophecy. She is born and gets out of the fire with three dragon eggs - they become the weapons that were mentioned!
So Does It Mean Jon Snow Was Left Behind?
Yeah, that's where the problem comes in. Jon Snow, this huge part of "Game Of Thrones" and someone that's even got their own spinoff show! - isn't included in that Daemon Targaryen's vision, as we see those Targaryens. It kinda makes it seem like his role, especially his identity as a Targaryen, doesn’t really matter much. He's not exactly part of the Targaryen dynasty. Even the writers say that this whole Prince That Was Promised is not confirmed. It makes you wonder why the "Game of Thrones" prequel isn't really trying to bring back some of the show’s main elements and make people think! And the writers, too!
Who Would Save Westeros?
It might be super exciting for the Game of Thrones fanbase to have someone like Daenerys - as this kind of warrior - ready to fight! Daenerys was really that Iron Throne threat!
Did Jon Snow Get Shut Out?
- Jon was that "Song of Ice and Fire" guy! A Stark from the North and a Targaryen. It's kind of a shock! Maybe we'll see more in the upcoming seasons, but as far as this season finale, it's kinda heartbreaking! That whole storyline about his identity got a huge focus but he didn't have a single mention. It's a weird choice!
- It doesn't have to mean that Jon isn’t the "Prince That Was Promised." The original author could make that happen - after all, the writers say this prequel doesn't actually define the story.
It’s Still a Good Thing to See the House of the Dragon
- Maybe it’s just the start! That means maybe in Season 3 - the whole "Game of Thrones" fandom will have to be ready to find out!
So you have to love House of the Dragon - It's giving us an entirely new look at those awesome House Targaryen dragons! Even though they decided not to really do much with those awesome characters from "Game of Thrones". We're all still hoping the creators don't forget the rest of Game of Thrones! It was an amazing TV series!
