IF had raked in $161.4 million globally at the Box Office at the time of writing. Given IF came in at number one at the box office during its opening weekend on May 17, this total is not totally disappointing for the movie. Moreover, IF has managed this box office take-home in a spring with remarkably low theater income. Memorial Day weekend this year was among the worst holiday weekends in decades, hence for a family movie, an over $150 million take home is not bad.
IF's Box Office performance is not great, however with additional background on the movie, one could find other opinions. This includes the expected $110 million budget for IF. Given all the marketing and distribution costs piled on after the production expense, Hollywood films usually must make 2 to 2.5 times their budget to turn a profit. Under this theory, IF still has a ways to go to break even and has not yet made enough money.

Reynolds by himself won't be sufficient to guide Animal Friends toward success if it is to adopt IF's same pattern. This element might also help to explain why IF's hybrid visual approach did not seem to appeal to viewers as much as those behind the movie would have wanted. Animal Friends is also R-rated, hence it sells much more difficult than its family-friendly counterpart.

Reynolds alongside John Krasinski (who also directed the movie), Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, and a voice cast including Steve Carell and Phoebe Waller-Bridge comprise IF's main cast. Reynolds stars Cal, a buddy of Carell's IF, Blue, who has collaborated with other imaginary pals throughout the movie. Though Reynolds's performance in the part is generally charming, it has not been sufficient to drive IF to significant box office success. More troubling than the box office figures is the impact of this film's poor performance on another forthcoming Reynolds movie.
Emphasizing the thematic running line of the plot and extending the film's twist, the ending of the movie is a really nice approach to round out the production. The narrative on the interaction between people and their imagined pals is an interesting one that presents chances for viewers to go through several feelings.
The last scene of the film reflects the possible resonance of the story with viewers. The narrative speaks to adults as well as to children. As the movie draws to an end, viewers could find themselves becoming emotional over the people and their experiences.
Given the summer Reynolds has ahead, IF's performance leaves something to be desired, but Reynolds should not be worried about his box office performance. Based on certain forecasts, opening weekend sales of Deadpool & Wolverine are probably going to reach $100 million. Apart from the Reynolds name, Deadpool & Wolverine gains from Hugh Jackman's returning to the franchise. Jackman stars Logan's character, Wolverine, who was once killed off. The reintroduction of Jackman and the Deadpool series will thrill fans and encourage them to go to movies. Should Deadpool & Wolverine live up to expectations, maybe it will even pique enough interest in Reynolds to boost Animal Friends' draw and surpass IF in success.
