Marvel formally returns Spider-Man's Sinister Six, at last attaining an MCU-worthy roster.
Marvel just rebooted Spider-Man's coolest villains since the Sinister Six have a new roster that would fit exactly in the MCU. Marvel continuity has seen numerous iterations of the Sinister Six, with different villains banding together to murder Spider-Man where each one has individually failed, generally under the direction of Doctor Octopus. Marvel's new Ultimate Universe narrative is now creatively spinning the blueprint in a somewhat unexpected direction.
Marvel has confirmed the arrival of a fresh Sinister Six in solicit information for Ultimate Spider-Man #9. Wilson FIsk's Kingpin assembled this fresh team with some startling members. And Marvel has published the designs for every villain, allowing fans to have a close-up view of the lineup even though Marco Checchetto's artwork shows the team standing strangely in the shadows.
The imaginative fresh perspective on the team that Spider-Man's New Sinister Six offer
Launched in 2023's Ultimate Invasion (Jonathan Hickman and Bryan Hitch), The Ultimate Universe is a fresh storyline with a strong villain called the Maker seizing over a whole universe. Originally quite similar to Marvel's mainstream reality, this planet was altered by time travel so the Maker can rewrite history in his favor. The Maker allowed him to take over the planet, which he currently rules via the Maker's Council: a coalition of villains comprising evil versions of the Hulk, Moon Knight and X-Men's Colossus. He established a universe whereby heroes either never acquired their powers or were silently murdered out. Kingpin is a servant of the Maker's Council supervising their interests in Manhattan in this reality, not merely a mobster. Mole Man considers the city's subterranean his kingdom while the Sinister Six seem to be the overlords of the five boroughs of New York.
Spider-Man only recently acquired his powers in this universe as a gift from the youthful Tony Stark, who is battling to stop the Maker's terrible activities. Married father of two, Peter Parker from this planet learns the superhero ropes as an adult instead of a plucky teen. Peter has battled few villains thus far, thus the Sinister Six are even more dangerous than ever since he is trying to balance his vigilante life with his normal one.

Fans have been waiting years for a Big Screen Sinister Six.
Years of attempts have gone toward producing a film featuring the Sinister Six. With Sony developing a Sinister Six film featuring characters from its linked movie universe, including Morbius, Madame Web, and Venom, the most likely way it will happen now is via Sony. Long rumors among fans that the MCU was developing to the Sinister Six with its Spider-Man films were unfounded when No Way Home created a pseudo-version of the team with the villains of past Spider-Man films. It seemed less likely that there would ever be an MCU-specific version.
The Sinister Six represent a significant increase in the difficulties Spider-Man encounters; their most famous combo of villains all attacking as a team. Marvel presents a version that wouldn't need to re-use any of No Way Home's characters, so MCU fans will probably ultimately witness an official Sinister Six squad.
One of Marvel's Coolest Sinister Six Iterations
Given Mole Man's current random opposition to Spider-Man, initial look at this team seems odd. Though only Mysterio and Kraven are original members, the new villains have one thing in common: they have all been big crime lords in Marvel's primary world. Not only was Mister Sinister a villain, but he also oversaw the Inner Demons, a crime syndicate that competed with Kingpin's during its height of influence. While the Mole Man rules the underground kingdom of Subterranea, Felicia Hardy's Black Cat once turned leader of New York's underworld. These are not only enemies; they are leaders with own armies and resources, hence they are the ideal messengers to assist the Maker's Council in subjugating New York.
Peter Parker and an anitheroic form of Harry Osborn's Green Goblin are trying to bring down the Kingpin in Ultimate Spider-Man's new state quo, but with the Sinister Six arriving, the actual extent of the struggle became evident. Marvel has been fairly open about the motivation behind the continuous Ultimate Universe series; the world's heroes only have 18 months to defeat the Maker's Council on several fronts. For Spider-Man, this means toppling the Sinister Six since this new iteration of the venerable team shows the MCU exactly how to employ a familiar framework to accomplish something rather different.

Funny Fact
Mr. Negative
Superhuman strength and endurance; capacity to expose others' worst sides; healing and corrupting power.
Though he is a rather recent villain in Spider-Man mythology, Mister Negative was a main enemy in the Marvel's Spider-Man video game.
Keystone
New York's crime chief is non-superhuman but incredibly physically strong.
Bullseye guards this new Wilson Fisk; in this universe, he is an enforcer for the Maker's Council sent to murder anybody who defies them rather than an assassin hired for pay.
Mystic
employs bespoke built technologies to create quite realistic illusions.
Having changed realities to commit crimes without Spider-Man stopping him, the 'new' incarnation of Mysterio was revealed in the original 2000s-era Ultimate Universe continuity to be the same villain from Marvel's main reality.
The Mole Man
Improved senses and brilliant intelligence, which he has applied to subjugate an army of Subterranean lifeforms fighting as his slaves.
The Mole Man was the Fantastic Four's first ever villain, sending a gigantic monstrosity to attack the fledgling team.
the Black Cat
Particularly when she is under physical danger, "bad luck" allows her to control chance in her favor.
This version of Black Cat resembles the Black Fox - an elderly cat burglar who trained Felicia Hardy's Black Cat and has been known to escape superheroes by using his advanced age to guilt them into letting him go.
Hunter in Kraven
Expert hunter who has enhanced his body and mind with various potions and spiritual techniques.
In Marvel's main continuity, Kraven was permanently replaced by an exact clone who he considered his son, allowing Marvel to keep using the iconic villain and name while also respecting the iconic 'Kraven's Last Hunt' storyline.
Coming September 9 from Marvel Comics is Ultimate Spider-Man #9.
