Though Isla Fisher and Greg Kinnear might not be the main stars in The Present, they each have a lot of enjoyable comedies under their belt that would make good (albeit usually more adult) a follow-up to the film. Fisher is well-known for her big part in the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers and has even hinted that nearly 20 years later Wedding Crashers 2 could yet happen. Her other comedy work includes a regular part on seasons 4 and 5 of Arrested Development as well as one episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Since the 1990s, Kinnear—also a gifted dramatic actor—has regularly performed in comedies. Like Fisher, he appears in Curb Your Enthusiasm and performs one of the best new characters in Anchorman 2, a major ensemble cast member in Little Miss Sunshine. The 1999 superhero satire Mystery Men features Kinnear suit-up as the pompous, egotistical Captain Amazing to hilarious effect for lovers of superhero Movies in search of an unusual comedy.
Director Christian Ditter's latest Time Loop comedy The Present is fresh. How to Be Single Played by Isla Fisher and Greg Kinnear are a marriage on the verge of divorce, shocking their three children. Fortunately for the children, they come upon a family antique grandfather clock with time-travel ability. The youngest Diehl family members use their control of the clock to set off an expedition to do all they can to keep their parents from divorcing.
Screen Rant is glad to show a The Present clip. Isla Fisher is struck in it by a man whose intention is cut short for an unanticipated one. The present review of Screen Rant appreciated the classic atmosphere of the comedy, and the clip above most surely wouldn't seem out of place in a popular early 2000s comedy. Look at this and get ready to see the film when it launches digital on June 18.
Although the performers portraying the Diehl family children in The Present lack a run of studio comedies, there are plenty of chances to see their other work. Emma's Shay Rudolph is regarded as among The Baby-Sitters Club's most intelligent characters, Mason Easton Rocket Sweda (Taylor) has appeared in more than forty General Hospital episodes; Shay Joyce (Max) was a regular character on the sitcom Good Girls. Though odds are likely these actors will find their way into similar productions in the future, The Present is pushing them into feature comedy territory.
via June 18, The Present lands via digital media. The movie centers on a small child who finds he can travel in time using an enchanted grandfather clock. Along with his brothers, he sets out to reunite their divorced parents once more.
