Rellana's Twin Blades are a Remembrance Weapon obtained after defeating Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, one of the mandatory bosses in the DLC. Both weapons have unique stance-style Ashes of War, but Rellana's Twin Blades are more balanced and have lower FP costs.
The Sword of Night & Flame's Ash of War, Night-and-Flame Stance, has two abilities: Comet Azur, a powerful sorcery beam, and a burst of flames. While this is a strong combo, Comet Azur's high FP cost limits its use. Rellana's Twin Blades' Ash of War has a similar concept, with one sorcery and one fire ability, but both skills have lower FP costs, making them more usable in non-boss situations.

The base moveset of Rellana's Twin Blades is also effective, using quick strikes that pair well with talismans that buff successive attacks, like the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia. Rellana's Twin Blades' lower FP cost and versatility make it a better choice for many builds.
Why The Sword of Night & Flame Still Remains Powerful
The Sword of Night & Flame's immense power was undeniable. While its game-breaking power did lessen the game's intensity, it carried many players through the game. The Sword of Night & Flame's stat requirements are spread across four skills, similar to Rellana's Twin Blades, but the weapons' power made them difficult to balance in PvE.
However, the concept of a weapon with two completely different abilities through a stance is still amazing. Despite the introduction of Rellana's Twin Blades, the Sword of Night & Flame remains a powerful weapon, especially in boss fights.
Rellana's Twin Blades Are A Great Evolution
The introduction of Rellana's Twin Blades shows that FromSoftware is evolving concepts from the base game. The Twin Blades have a better design, both in terms of balance and aesthetics, than the Sword of Night & Flame. The animation of their stance is superior, and their moveset outside the Ash of War is better too.
Rellana's Twin Blades' lower FP cost allows them to be used by more builds, making them more versatile. While the Sword of Night & Flame remains a powerful weapon, Rellana's Twin Blades are a clear upgrade, offering more balanced power and a more engaging gameplay experience.
