Did You Like Jigsaw's Timeline Twist? Check Out This Horror Movie!
Remember the crazy timeline twist in Jigsaw that flipped John Kramer's story on its head? If you were a fan of that, then you need to check out Final Destination 5! This movie pulled off a similar trick, but it did it so much better.
Jigsaw's Twist: A Little Too Confusing?
Jigsaw made everyone think that the barn game was happening at the same time as the Detective Halloran and Logan's storyline. But BAM! It was actually a flashback to the past! Turns out, John Kramer wasn't resurrected, and the barn game was his very first. And who was the copycat killer? Logan!
Despite some hints, this twist was a big surprise. But Final Destination 5 pulled off a similar trick six years earlier. And trust me, it's way more satisfying!
Final Destination 5: A Time-Traveling Masterpiece
Final Destination 5 is all about Sam and his crew who escape death after Sam has a vision of a bridge collapse. The usual Final Destination craziness unfolds, with everyone dying in freak accidents. But here's the kicker: at the end of the movie, we find out that Sam and his girlfriend are actually boarding the plane from the very first Final Destination movie! They're doomed to die all over again.
This twist is genius because it takes the franchise to a whole new level. Unlike Jigsaw, it doesn't leave you scratching your head, wondering how it all fits together.
Time Twists Aren't New to Saw
Jigsaw wasn't the first Saw movie to mess with timelines. Saw II did it back in the day by showing a game that already happened. And Saw IV had flashbacks to John Kramer's backstory. But Jigsaw's twist was just... confusing.
Final Destination 5, on the other hand, really added to the franchise. It showed that Death couldn't be fooled, no matter how hard you try! And it made Tony Todd's character, William Bludworth, even more important because he's seen all this craziness before.
Both Movies Were Supposed To Be Final Chapters
Both Jigsaw and Final Destination 5 were meant to be the end of their franchises. Maybe that's why they both decided to get all time-traveling! But Jigsaw didn't stick to its plan. It got a sequel, Spiral, which many fans consider a bad one.
As for Final Destination, it's coming back in 2025 with Final Destination: Bloodlines. We'll have to wait and see if it's going to have any time-traveling twists of its own.
So, if you like crazy timeline twists, Final Destination 5 is a must-see! It's a classic Horror Movie, and it does the time-traveling thing so much better than Jigsaw!
