Elden Ring: The ULTIMATE Remembrance Rewards Guide (Base Game & DLC)
Elden Ring Remembrances: Choosing the BEST Rewards From Each Boss
Defeating those epic bosses in Elden Ring? That’s only half the battle, folks! You then get these cool Remembrances that let you pick awesome weapons or spells. There are 26 unique ones, but you can’t duplicate them easily. Making those choices wisely matters because you might want to choose wisely from a variety of options depending on which ones best fit that character and that character's development. This guide shows the ten most awesome Remembrance rewards for you, whether you're starting a fresh game or crushing New Game Plus. This involves discussing various weapon and spell advantages to really showcase their strengths; this becomes especially important given how difficult some specific choices become later in the game!
Normally, people pick what works for their character build and development stage, and is often done using a standard progression from the early to late-game encounters, however it's not always easy because choosing when certain aspects are unavailable really affects your progression. With a limited number of Remembrance duplications, carefully choosing the most valuable options matter significantly! Let’s break down what these awards truly mean. And to make this even more useful, some video links from Youtube are included (courtesy of RageGamingVideos, OnlyWaifu, and Fextralife)!
Top 10 Elden Ring Remembrance Rewards: Weapons & Spells
10. Remembrance of the Black Blade: A Colossal Sword or Powerful Incantation
Defeat Maliketh, the Black Blade, get this awesome Remembrance. You then choose either Maliketh's Black Blade (colossal sword) or the Black Blade incantation. Both hit hard with Destined Death (a 10% HP debuff). I prefer the incantation; more broadly usable across Faith builds, and better for use as a finisher to exploit that debuff at closer ranges; although you might also get more value out of using the actual sword. But those debuff’s really powerful for later-game encounters, even with other attacks you might find along the way.
9. Remembrance of the Shadow Sunflower: A Colossal Weapon Powerhouse!
The Shadow Sunflower Remembrance (from defeating the Scadutree Avatar) gives you a choice; the Shadow Sunflower Blossom (colossal weapon) or the Land of Shadow incantation. The incantation’s pretty weak; The weapon is amazingly powerful – it’s the best Strength/Faith weapon in the game – particularly using its unique Shadow Sunflower Headbutt skill. It really works in tandem for easily shattering that poise in multiple attacks across various encounters in PVE and PVP contexts!
8. Remembrance of the Wild Boar Rider: Gravity-Defying Destruction!
This is one that surprised me! Defeat Commander Gaius, claim this. You'll then have to choose the Sword Lance (heavy thrusting sword) or the Blades of Stone incantation. While Blades of Stone deals massive poise damage; this is not extremely valuable against opponents that avoid these aspects by easily sidestepping them; whereas Sword Lance’s Spinning Gravity Thrust is utterly insane; especially when using a Blood Infusion! The damage ticks build bleed, perfect for New Game Plus, and especially when using other multi-hit talismans!
7. Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen: The Ultimate Intelligence Staff
Beat Rennala, you can choose between the Carian Regal Scepter and Rennala’s Full Moon sorcery. The Rennala’s Full Moon is okay; but lacks some features (unlike Ranni’s Dark Moon) which lacks a key frostbite buff! That said; Carian Regal Scepter is truly superior. The ultimate intelligence staff! It lacks downsides which are included in other comparable high-tier options like Lusat's Glintstone Staff. Its unique spin weapon skill is a hidden gem, and is an incredibly surprising asset even if many players might underestimate this, this really works and should not be underestimated.
6. Remembrance of a God and a Lord: Radahn's Greatswords of Death!
Taking down Radahn gives three options. Those are: the Greatsword of Radahn (Lord), the Greatsword of Radahn (Light), and the Light of Miquella incantation. The incantation is generally ineffective and those Radahn swords both use same moveset. That Greatsword of Radahn (Lord) wins due to this one key aspect that the other option misses: its Promised Consort skill's a massive AoE damage attack that is unbelievably effective! The high-level poise makes this an absolutely monstrous and unexpected winner.
5. Remembrance of the Impaler: Spear of Impaling and Fire-Based Incantation!
Get this from Messmer the Impaler. It’s so good; it gives you the best new dexterity weapon (Spear of the Impaler; which has huge fire damage and an amazingly powerful unique skill) alongside an awesome fire incantation (Messmer's Orb; really, really powerful for easily removing massive swathes of lower tier enemies using AoE abilities)! Duplicating this Remembrance is strongly recommended.
4. Remembrance of the Blood Lord: Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear
You defeat Mohg, this is your reward. Choosing the awesome Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear is better than that completely worthless Bloodboon incantation; both the weapon and incantation apply bleed! That spear has a hugely powerful, massive AoE attack! (The Bloodboon Ritual skill); it adds additional buffs that further enhance its impact! Plus, its incredibly useful sprint attack that can combo-kill many enemies across that PVE content!
3. Remembrance of the Blasphemous: The Best PVE Weapon in Elden Ring!
From Rykard. That Rykard’s Rancor incantation requires ridiculously high faith AND intelligence—completely unrealistic during that period! Go for the Blasphemous Blade; it's that ultimate PVE weapon; the strongest weapon found in this game! It has insanely good scaling. The Taker's Flames skill even heals you; the additional fire damage and utility creates so many unexpected but enormously helpful opportunities, creating unique experiences especially useful when upgrading additional talismans!
2. Remembrance of the Mother of Fingers: The Spell & Incantation Caster
Taking down Metyr lets you choose either Staff of the Great Beyond (a glintstone staff) or the Gazing Finger (a colossal weapon). While the weapon's strong; this Staff of the Great Beyond does something unlike other catalysts in this entire game – this lets you cast both sorceries and incantations simultaneously. That ability's great; very useful during those New Game Plus runs.
1. Elden Remembrance: The Ultimate Rune Farming Weapon
The ultimate prize; From Elden Beast. Choose the Sacred Relic Sword FIRST, that seriously is a necessity! Why? It's that perfect tool to get maximum runes and will revolutionize how efficiently these can be used by upgrading this tool! Marika's Hammer is excellent—this one is completely awesome—and you do want it! This one item easily justifies itself due to how this specific weapon affects many other game aspects like those upgrade costs for many important items, gear and overall experience upgrades.
