Why Does Oracle Have A New Look?
Even though Oracle has been one of the most beloved DC Comics superheroes - Barbara Gordon is known for being a total badass even when she's stuck in her chair. But she has never had her own look, that's until now. A recent comic shows this total upgrade!
Is There A New Oracle Costume?
Yeah, there is! If you have a DC Comics comic and check out Birds of Prey #12, they’ve got a new Oracle design. It is pretty different. If you haven't read it, you have to go find it!
What's The Story Behind the New Look?
- In this whole Birds of Prey storyline - you'll find that the Oracle has a special ability. In this one comic - there's a part where her friends take a crazy trip! They get transported into this super silly world created by the character named Sin - think like all those chibi, anime drawings.
- While Oracle's always got this tough look as a tech-pro but this comic gave her a whole new design - with a leotard, a cape, and this cool emblem! And it's totally got the vibe of Gotham, too! The super cool detail, too, is that the suit is all blue and green, and with those glasses, it totally has a cool high-tech feel!
What Made Oracle Choose To Change?
Oracle - who has a history with Batman, was always a really important hero! And you'll find out that she has done some serious cool stuff, too! Oracle Batgirl was a totally popular character in the comics - even after the Joker hurt her! She was super strong!
- In the Batman stories, she was even this badass tech genius, always a master strategist.
- But even though Oracle's pretty amazing at what she does - a lot of the time in these DC Comics, we don't see Oracle! Her awesome costume design makes it clear: even though Oracle doesn't spend a lot of time out in the open, that doesn't make her any less important. In fact, it makes her super special!
- Black Canary - a cool character in DC Comics. Even though Oracle never actually fought as much as her former allies, she was the brains behind their awesome teamwork!
