Superman and Beetlejuice: Unexpected Cross-over
Prepare for an amusing crossover! The cheeky bio-exorcist Beetlejuice is prowling the DC Universe, and it appears he has sights toward Superman. Fans are going crazy over this unexpected meeting that appears on a new variation cover for Superman #17.
Soon to premiere, the much awaited follow-up to the iconic '80s film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, will bring the notorious bio-exorcist front stage once more. But nobody expected him to be headed toward the Dc Universe, let alone flirt with the Man of Steel personally.
Flirty Meeting of Beetlejuice with Superman
Chris Bachalo's variation cover for Superman #17 shows Superman waiting in the dead waiting room from the original Beetlejuice film. He is seated next to the explorer with the shrunken head. Standing next to Superman, Beetlejuice quips, "You and Lois still an item? His arm slung around the superhero. Seeking a friend. This is classic Beetlejuice, his normal sleazy and mischievous self even in the hereafter.
With its use of subdued colors, odd proportions, and a feeling of the strange, Tim Burton's original film's essence is exactly captured on the cover. Like a scene ripped right out of the film! And Bachalo's clever little nod to the movie is including the shrunken heads. It even suggests that Superman, maybe trying to return to Metropolis, also tormented the witch doctor who shrank Beetlejuice's head. This lighthearted element improves the cover much more.
More Than a Superman Experience
Beetlejuice is aiming for other DC characters as well. He is also appearing on variant covers for several DC comics. These are a handful:
Covering Batman '89, Beetlejuice is up against Batman from that game. Michael Keaton famously captured both roles in films.
Next victim of Beetlejuice's misbehavior in a cover for Gotham City Sirens #2 is Harley Quinn.
He's making waves in the Nightwing universe on a cover for Nightwing #117.
Beyond Superman, Beetlejuice is flirting in a cover for Wonder Woman #12.
Additionally found in the swampy universe of Swamp Thing on a cover is Beetlejuice.
At last, Beetlejuice returns to Gotham City covering Batman # 152.
An Excellent Lead-Up for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
A great approach to get excited about the arrival of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice are these variant covers. They are humorous, surprising, and exactly capture the character's attitude. You won't want to miss these covers whether your taste is for Beetlejuice, the Dc Universe, or just good crossover.
August 21, 2024 will find Superman #17 available. Get ready then to see Beetlejuice leave his mark on the DC Universe. He will most certainly add interest to things!
