Perhaps the most terrifying and coolest Ghost Rider's New Flaming Skull Design has ever looked.
As the two unite, Danny Ketch's Ghost Rider exhibits fresh control over the Spirit of Vengeance. Blade and his vampire army will know retribution.
The Midnight Sons Deal with a fresh danger.
Danny Ketch, the second Ghost Rider, has rebuilt the Midnight Sons to prevent their former partner Blade from darkening the planet. The vampire apocalypse of Blood Hunt is ongoing. Mysterious images trouble the dreams of the new Midnight Sons as they travel to New York City, guiding their focus to one Chicago hospital. The Ghost Rider yearns retribution from whatever is concealed there.
a New Kind of Retaliation
Danny Ketch and his Midnight Sons have been diverted from their mission to down Blade and eradicate the worldwide vampire threat in Bryan Hill and Germán Peralta's continuous Midnight Sons: Blood Hunt serial. Following the discovery of a demonic summoning circle inside the hospital and a fresh concern that there might be something more Chthonic underlying Blade's corruptive evil, the Spirit of Vengeance exhibits startling restraint as a merged form of Danny and the Spirit proclaims, "Penance is patient."
The Horrible Beauty of Unity
From this preview of issue 3, the really incredible artwork from Ghost Rider only depicts partial transformation with Danny Ketch's face and eye offset by the fiery skull. Beyond only a graphic depiction of the Rider burning away Danny's human body, it represents how Ketch - better than any other Ghost Rider - has come to terms with the Spirit of Vengeance.
Danny Ketch Has Perfected the Darkness of the Ghost Rider
The Mother of Demons had thrown the planet into a hell-imbued darkness whereby Marvel's most terrible heroes emerged from the shadows to neutralize the menace when the first Sons incarnation was established. Although the lineup has evolved over time, the purpose is the same and with its newest commander, eldest member, more under control of their infernal powers than ever before. Whether it be a demon or a remnant of God's will, the volatile force known as the Spirit of Vengeance yearns for retribution against the wicked but Danny Ketch has found a method to balance its need to exact revenge with deeds of kindness in recent years.
An Intriguing New Dynamic
The hostile connection between a host and the Ghost Rider is familiar to most fans. Over fifty years, Marvel's first Rider Johnny Blaze has been battling his inner-demon for dominance. But Ketch and his Spirit have a completely other connection that makes him more dangerous than his brother could ever be. Danny and his Ghost Rider present unity in this miniseries. Though frequent, the changes between forms come naturally. Danny commits his body to the Rider, and it comes back without struggle. They are nearer than any other Ghost Rider toward single beinghood.
Danny Ketch is Ghost Rider Without Mortal Limitations.
Daniel Ketch has learnt to appreciate the Rider and, consequently, the Rider respects him unlike Johnny Blaze or Robbie Reyes. Daniel has hosted several Spirits of Vengeance over the Comics and developed a closer relationship with the divine beings no other host has. Seeing Ketch gently let the Rider speak through him as it suits is terrifying after so many years of seeing Johnny Blaze struggle against his own demons. The apparently crucial barrier separating Host from Rider seems to have burned away and the two halves have combined. Marvel could definitely think about adopting this half-and-half approach more frequently to depict how Danny has attained balance with his supernatural side, existing as part-human, part-living manifestation of fury.
Given his control over and coexistence with his Spirit of Vengeance, Daniel Ketch may be the Ghost Rider strongest. Marvel has found that the only restriction a Spirit has is the will of the mortal they are bonded to; but, what happens when the host lacks fear of the remnant of God's power they have been given? The next goal of the Midnight Sons is getting ready to respond that query since an Eldritch mystery forces Ghost Rider into actual symbiosis with Danny Ketch and the Spirit of Vengeance.
Marvel Comics will have Blood Hunt #3 available July 31, 2024 midnight sons.
