More Bridgerton Outside of Season 4
Author of the Bridgerton book series Julia Quinn has alluded to ideas for the Netflix series that might span well beyond season 4. This revelation follows the premiere of Bridgerton season 3, which explored Penelope's narrative and delighted viewers.
Quinn's Temptation
Quinn told People "there are plans" for Bridgerton material outside season 4. She underlined the meticulous attention to detail of the Netflix team and their comprehensive strategy of series adaptation. Quinn said she attended many sessions with the writing crew of the show, where they shown their intentionality by "really thinking about all the books."
"One of the things that was rather exciting when they actually first bought the series was that it was really clear to me that they put a lot of thought into it already," Quinn said. "We had to go through everything and particularly state, 'These characters are included, these characters are not.'" That approach made it quite evident to me that they were truly considering all the books and had a long strategy. That's what I believe has been happening all through. Said another long-windingly, "Yes, there are plans [for beyond season 4]." Naturally, though, those plans are always subject to change."
The Future of Bridgerton Seems Bright
Quinn said that although plans change, her comment is a good sign for the possibilities of Bridgerton season 5. Although Netflix has not yet announced season five, the great success of the show makes it rather likely. On Netflix, both halves of Bridgerton season 3 did remarkably well—tens of millions of views and a spot in the worldwide top 10 list for weeks. The premiere of Bridgerton season 3 not only increased the viewing of past seasons but also proved the ongoing attractiveness of the show and its rewatchability.
More Than Season 5
The possibility for the Bridgerton world to surpass season 4 transcends simply a fifth season. Already running a spinoff miniseries, "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," Bridgerton could explore its universe via more spinoffs. There is a lot of material to adapt with eight books in the Bridgerton series and extra epilogue and anthology series. Quinn's remarks imply that the creative staff is actively brainstorming ideas for carrying on the Bridgerton narrative.
