It’s revealed that JJ's supposed dad, Luke Maybank, actually isn’t his biological father. This incredible truth comes out because JJ got his hands on a letter from the now-deceased Wes Genrette which revealed the entire history! This has JJ going off looking for answers which resulted in a thrilling chase! Then, the most unexpected confession came out. JJ's biological mom is Larissa Genrette and his birth father is Chandler Groff making Wes Genrette his grandfather! Fans didn't think JJ and Wes would end up linked so closely. The truth is this Wes seemed very interested in JJ through the episodes. Why? Well, it’s because he actually is family. What's unknown is if Chandler Groff knew about JJ.

JJ and the rest of his friends in the Outer Banks all had to deal with a traumatic event earlier and the rumors stated both Larissa and Groff's baby had perished along with the mother during Larissa's tragic death, the tragic end coming on a boat called the Albatross! No one would have known JJ's true history, especially because everyone believed he'd been raised only by his father figure, Luke Maybank, only learning the whole story once the big secret came out. For Part 2, releasing on November 7, 2024 fans will discover so much more!

What's so fascinating? The letter mentioned a mysterious "Albatross" that led to this new chain of events! It turns out the letter mentioned that Albatross was Larissa's boat where the tragic event took place, even resulting in Larissa's death. What's still hidden, is the big question.
