The Silent Hill 2 Remake is here, and with it comes a whole new set of puzzles that will challenge even the most seasoned horror game players. One of the most interesting puzzles? The Coin Puzzle, found in the Wood Side Apartments.
The Coin Puzzle
This isn't your average puzzle! You'll need more than just smarts, you will need to locate and use the correct coins!
- A silver Man/Knife coin
- A gold Woman/Cross coin
- A bronze Snake/Flower coin
Once you've got these, head to the Reception room. The box for the puzzle is under a dirty sheet. Once you uncover the poem, you can get started!
Poem One
The first poem sets the Scene and the placement of the Coins!
Three bright coins in the five holes be, first sits the Maiden underneath the tree. The wind from behind the Maiden doth blow, a beautiful Flower alone has to grow. And here comes the Man, so sleek and so fine, in the pale Moonlight his eyes doth shine.
Here’s how to solve it:
- The Woman coin goes in the center slot (under the tree).
- The Flower coin goes in the far right slot (behind the Woman).
- The Man coin goes in the far left slot (entering the scene).
Poem Two
Things change quickly and the Scene changes, leading to the need to change up your coin positions!
The Man doth approach, his Blade now revealed, his face disappears behind shining steel. Away from the man doth the Maiden flee, Towards the Flower, away from the tree.
Here’s the Solution:
- Flip the silver coin to the Knife side.
- Move the Knife coin one slot to the right.
- Move the Woman coin one slot to the right.
Poem Three
Things get really dark and the Coins flip, but not their location!
Where once grew a Flower, a venomous glee, where once was a Maiden, but a stone doth be. And over her Grave the Man doth remain, his blade never met the vile Serpent's vein.
Here’s how you solve it:
- Flip the bronze coin to the Serpent side.
- Flip the gold coin to the Cross side.
- Flip the silver coin back to the Man side.
- Move the Man coin to the center slot.
Poem Four
The final poem asks you to choose who is to blame. It is multiple choice! Any choice works and leads to a win! However, be warned! Your choice may impact the Ending, so choose wisely.
The Beast who its teeth in her flesh doth bore, He who has failed, She who is no more. Now unto you falls a grievous chore, who carries the blame for what fate had in store?
Move any coin to the top slot, and you win!

If you solve this puzzle successfully, you get the Apartment 201 Key. This opens the next part of your creepy adventure. Good luck, you will need it!
