Normal for witches to procreate via the force
Not the first one seen in Star Wars canon, Mother Aniseya's magical coven is rather influenced by the Nightsisters of Dathomir, a race of all-female witches established in Legends and included into Star Wars: The Clone Wars courtesy of George Lucas himself. Though they didn't need men to produce new Nightsisters, the Nightsisters of Dathomir frequently produced male children with the Zabraks of Dathomir - Darth Maul from the son of Nightsister leader Mother Talzin herself.
Reflecting numerous suggestions from the Lucasfilm Story Group, Lucasfilm released Tricia Barr's book The Dark Side - a book about dark side history in 2018, acknowledged to have been quite significant. Florian has uploaded an extract over on Twitter; this book is only available in Spanish and French, never extensively available in English. The translating is as follows:
He owed Mother Talzin a particular favor during the Clone Wars. The Brothers would have vanished if the Nightsisters had not volunteered to bore Zabrak children, even though they did not need men to breed. This assured quiet cohabitation among clans. While some of the youngsters shared traits of both species, Night Brothers and Sisters, others were born as Zabrak men. Before ascending the ranks and taking over her tribe, Talzin bore three Nightbrothers.
Published in Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Stories of Light & Dark - Anne E. Covery's short novella "Bug" actually chronicles the tale of one Nightsister who procreated using her sorcery. Mother Aniseya has done essentially the same thing; her witchcraft and the sorcery used by the Nightsisters are obviously quite comparable. Mother Koril is a Zabrak woman as well, which gives this a genetic component.
We Now Know Why Osha & Mae Don't Make Anakin Skywalker Less Special
This rich history also clarifies why Anakin Skywalker has no any influence on Mae and Osha's conception. Notice the Dark Side strongly suggests that only females can be conceived with the Force's strength; this is most likely because Y chromosomes cannot be created. Whereas the Nightsisters create their own females at will, they can only interbreed with the Zabrak Nightbrothers via natural reproduction.
Anakin Skywalker and the twins differ most crucially in that he is male and they are female. Viewers may be quite sure he was not conceived by any Force power at all; rather, his miraculous conception is by the will of the Force itself because he is male. Though maybe a Force Dyad, they are twins and he is the Chosen One meant to bring equilibrium to the Force. The unexpected turn of events in The Acolyte has little to do with Anakin and hardly lessens him in the least.
Deep Star Wars Lore Set Up Six Years Ago's Massive Twist in the Acolyte Episode 3
Actually, the huge turn-about in the third Acolyte episode was set up six years earlier; it has no bearing on Anakin Skywalker whatsoever. The Acolyte episode 3's reportedly revealed twins Osha and Mae, who had been raised in a coven of witches on the planet Brendok - seemed to have been born of the Force stunned viewers. In one pivotal scene, coven leader Mother Aniseya and the Zabrak Mother Koril spoke about their conception and seemed to be implying Mother Aniseya had used the Force to produce the two offspring.
Some viewers believe Anakin Skywalker suffers greatly as a result. Ultimately, they contend, it makes Anakin, born of the Force, less special. Though they are unaware, The Acolyte is building on profound Star Wars mythology developed eight years ago, and this mythology already clarifies why Anakin Skywalker is still unique.
The Acolyte: A perceptive instrument
Set in the Star Wars universe during the latter phases of the High Republic Era, the Acolyte shows the Galactic Empire as well as the most potent state of the Jedi. Examining several crimes, this sci-fi thriller sees a former Padawan meet her former Jedi Master as they investigate occurrences all pointing to darkness emerging from beneath the surface poised to bring about the annihilation of the High Republic.
The program boasts an outstanding cast, and its plot points to lots of action and several twists. The Acolyte is a great program for people who wish more information on the beginnings of the Star Wars universe and the background of the Jedi and the Galactic Empire.
Interestingly to note is that the dark side also refers to a "ascension".
Interestingly, The Dark Side also refers to a "ascension," maybe implying a ceremony whereby a being rises to become a coven leader. Suggesting another parallel, that she planned for the twins to take over from her, the ceremony featured in The Acolyte episode 3 was described as an ascension and Mother Aniseya promised Mae and Osha to protect her secrets after her death. Although The Acolyte was somewhat well six years ago because to The Dark Side, most viewers would not have known about it since the book is so obscure.
