Talamasca Hunt and Observe all Manner of Supernatural Creatures by Anne Rice
The major organization of *The Talamasca* show served a largely anthropological role in Anne Rice's fictitious universe, researching and exploring the paranormal, with its headquarters in London. Still, it was also in charge of suppressing knowledge about supernatural entities, actively covering up paranormal fiascos from different Anne Rice novels. Observing, and getting engaged every once in a while, the Talamasca dealt with everything from vampires and ghosts to witches and werewolves.
In an AMC release, producer Mark Johnson declared the show will be a supernatural "procedural spy thriller." With a monster per episode, it seems it would mirror shows like *The X-Files* and *Supernatural*.
New Anne Rice Immortal Universe Talamasca Show Already Hints At 1 More Spinoff
Anne Rice entrusted the baton of representing her characters to AMC, which green-lit *The Talamasca* TV show, before dying in 2021; may already be getting ready for another. Anyone familiar with gothic horror and fantasy author Anne Rice is certainly aware of the *Interview with the Vampire* Brad Pitt movie, and probably also the 2022 AMC blockbuster TV series of the same name. In debuting the TV show, AMC started the new, American TV franchise titled Immortal Universe, which also contains *Mayfair Witches* and is set to grow further.
The *Talamasca* show, which will be helmed by John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty, will be about the mystical organization known as the Talamasca. The Talamasca featured in Anne Rice novels *The Vampire Chronicles*, as well as *Lives of the Mayfair Witches*, and featured in *Immortal Universe* on TV already, to a certain extent. Ciprien Grieve, an important character in *Mayfair Witches*, was a member of the Talamasca, and there is another member in *Interview with the Vampire* season 2. The new show will investigate the operations of the enigmatic group.
This prepares a possible fourth Anne Rice immortal universe show concerning werewolves.
There is one Anne Rice novel that has not yet been adapted for the screen, big or small, and that is 2012’s *The Wolf Gift* - but that could soon change. Presenting a thread throughout Anne Rice's books, journalism was vital for both *The Wolf Gift* characters and *Interview with the Vampire*. These investigative figures let Anne Rice challenge what characters were ready to compromise and investigate truth and morality in her work. The world and characters of *The Wolf Gift* could be a great addition to *Immortal Universe*, and with *The Talamasca* on the way, it seems possible.
Presenting the Talamasca over an entire TV show, it's probably going to eventually land on werewolves. Figures in science, power, and the media sought journalist Reuben in *The Wolf Gift*, readily within the Talamasca. This makes his on-screen look in *The Talamasca*, and an accompanying spinoff more feasible.
Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches stars Alexandra Daddario as neurosurgeon/witch Rowan Fielding, and the popular AMC show has been renewed for season 2.

Following the demise of its creator, Anne Rice, her estate is handing over the reins of her narrative creations to AMC. Seeing her work come to life in this way delighted the showrunner. *Mayfair Witches* is a compelling tale, and viewers are eager to learn what becomes of the new season and the characters.
The legacy of Anne Rice
Based on Anne Rice's various novel series, such as *The Vampire Chronicles* and *Lives of the Mayfair Witches*, *Immortal Universe* is a gothic-horror fantasy media franchise created by AMC and spearheaded by Anne Rice's son, Christopher Rice, following her passing. The franchise began in 2022 with a television adaptation of *Interview with the Vampire* and was continued in 2023 with *Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches*.
The Talamasca, a key figure in the Immortal Universe, will be at the center of the next spinoff. The show, like the franchise's first two shows, is expected to draw viewers interested in the horror genre, and especially those who are fans of Anne Rice's work.
