Now an A-List Project, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti's consecutive casting elevated Star Trek: Starfleet Academy into an A-list production. Both highly regarded and flexible actors, an Oscar winner like Holly Hunter and an Oscar nominee like Paul Giamatti send to Hollywood and viewers that Starfleet Academy is more than just another Star Trek series. Hunter and Giamatti's joining Star Trek speaks to the great caliber of actors the franchise is now able to draw thanks to the quality of Paramount+'s other programs such Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Discovery, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Among the writers of Star Trek: Lower Decks is Tawny Newsome, who brings to the show her wit and thorough canon knowledge. Though next to nothing about the characters in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has been released, Holly Hunter plays a Captain and the Chancellor of the Academy, and Giamatti portrays a villain with links to one of Starfleet Academy's cadets. The show will be set in outer space and San Francisco with a new enemy attacking the United Federation of Planets. Starfleet Academy will film in Toronto on the biggest set ever built for Star Trek. Felicia Day and Bonnie Gordon understandably desire to join Star Trek: Starfleet Academy given the reputation Hunter and Giamatti bring to the program; both Day and Gordon would contribute special skill and vitality to the next Star Trek series.
The next Star Trek show is so hot; actors are begging to be cast in it.
Actors are clamoring to be cast in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, the next series, which is such a popular concept. Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau created Executive, which starts filming fall 2024 with Kurtzman directing the series premiere. After casting Holly Hunter, an Academy Award-winner, as the series lead, Starfleet Academy made news. They then followed that coup by casting Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti as the major villain.
Felicia Day jumped to her X account begging to be cast after learning Paul Giamatti joined Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's cast, referring to the next Star Trek series as her "dream show". View Day's post below: The announcement of Paul Giamatti's appointment delighted Bonnie Gordon, who voices several parts in Star Trek: Prodigy. She wondered, "How do I audition?!" for a part in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. See Gordon's X post below: Elias Toufexis, who portrayed L'ak in Star Trek: Discovery season 5, supported Felicia Day Casting for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy on his X account:
Though Lower Decks will shortly close, Star Trek: Discovery is over and there is still plenty of fascinating material ahead for Star Trek even with less series.
Day declares in her X post her wish to participate in the next Star Trek series and bases her appeal on the news of Giamatti's hiring. Gordon then expresses her want to land a part in the show using the news of Giamatti's Casting. For actors, this is not unusual; but, it is rare for it to occur with a show prior to the disclosure of any casting details, suggesting significant excitement about this series. The fact that both performers are freely expressing their want in joining the show is a great indication of how successful this series is probably since both of them are quite gifted and have created a good name for themselves.
The continuous production and new series creation by Star Trek seems to be a tendency the franchise follows. There is a hope that other fresh, equally fascinating shows would follow Star Trek: Discovery once it ends.
James Gunn responds to questions on whether Major League Villain Plans Included
James Gunn might have confirmed that a major Justice League villain is on route into the DC Universe. Gunn's DC Universe is currently under production following the end of the DCEU in 2023, therefore bringing a new era of DC movies and TV shows. It will also feature fresh incarnations of some DC canon heroes and villains since multiple movies and series are under production.
Responding on a Gunn Instagram photo, a fan begged to "please wink if you have plans for Deathstroke, I am waiting for my boy to shine for so long." Not too long after, Gunn answered with a winking emoji likely confirming Slade Wilson's entry into the new DC Universe.
The DC Universe: Reviewing Its History
Among the biggest comic book franchises, the DC Universe routinely challenges Marvel.Beginning National Allied Publications in 1935, Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson later transformed it to DC Comics. From then, many more comic books, movies, TV shows, and video games have sprung from the brand. 2013 marked the beginning of the most current iteration of the superheroes as Zack Snyder revealed Henry Cavill as Superman. After seeing multiple movies with mixed reviews, DC underwent a soft reboot under James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Deathstroke is a part that will most likely be recast with some incredible choices; the DC Universe will see some fresh actors as iconic characters.

Anytime DC Studios gets around to shooting a Justice League picture, it would be interesting to see Deathstroke be part of a nefarious group opposing the heroes.
While seeing the DCEU waste Deathstroke was depressing, Gunn's DC Universe is clearly trying to offset it. For now, though, the fans of the DC Universe will have to wait patiently until Gunn reveals more specifics on Deathstroke's cinematic reimagining.
