Hey Scrubs fans! Get ready for another dose of Sacred Heart Hospital chaos, because the show is coming back!
Remember when Scrubs Season 9, Med School, dropped in 2010 and messed with everyone's love for the original series? The whole "reimagined" show had folks saying "what the heck?!" Thankfully, it seems like showrunner Bill Lawrence has heard all those cries of frustration and has learned his lesson (at least when it comes to how to bring Scrubs back).
Let's be real. A Scrubs Revival without the OG Cast, JD, Turk, and Dr. Cox? What's the point? Thankfully, it seems like Bill's gonna make sure the main crew returns and still play their awesome, unforgettable characters, giving us that satisfying closure we deserve after that season 9 heartbreak. Yeah, the idea is to bring those beloved original cast members together again! What could be better?
While a new group of doctors like the ones we met in Med School is planned, it won’t be a "total reboot." Instead, it's more about having new blood added to the mix and blending in with those original guys! That means those OG scrubs won't be completely on the sidelines! Sounds like a perfect balance. Bill's already teasing new Cast members joining, like what we had in Scrubs season 8. We gotta give Bill credit; that season was the best when it came to balancing new faces with old ones. Here’s hoping that this time he gets it right!
Everyone's pretty pumped about Scrubs coming back, which is great news for fans, even those who were frustrated with Season 9, a whole reimagined crew just didn’t hit the right note. You know, it didn’t feel like those “fake doctors, real friends” we came to know and love. We gotta say that season 9 wasn't the best ending, though Scrubs Season 8, had a great ending. I bet if you look it up, the episode is a tearjerker.
With that great season 8 finale in mind, it makes all the more sense that the next go-around needs to deliver that heartfelt ending! We want all the scrubs we love in place, from Janitor and Carla to even Dr. Kelso and his boss man antics. Imagine all the antics they’re about to create – more pranks from Janitor? A more emotional take on Dr. Kelso? That would be some next level drama!
We have a little news that might break your hearts, though. Our friend, the lovable Ted (played by the awesome Sam Lloyd), is missing because sadly, Sam Lloyd died back in 2020. We might see a mention of his passing in the new season, but it’s going to be hard to say goodbye! Ted was such a great addition to the show.
Then, we’ve got the whole Dr. Kelso dilemma. Ken Jenkins (Dr. Kelso himself) is pretty much in retirement now. We're thinking it's hard for a guy in his 80s to return to all that on-screen chaos. But there’s still some hope! There is no confirmation yet from the actor, so perhaps we’ll see Dr. Kelso in a new Scrubs season.
After the "Fake Doctors, Real Friends" podcast from Zach Braff and Donald Faison, Scrubs got a big boost in popularity! Those guys, sharing their Scrubs experiences, had a massive influence in getting us back to those old school shenanigans!
Bill Lawrence joined them from time to time and got us stoked for more Scrubs. They shared tons of behind-the-scenes gossip that no one really knew! You’d think they had secret scripts and all that! So it's no wonder we're all about this upcoming Revival. But, who would have thought a simple podcast would reignite the whole Scrubs craze?!
Even after all these years, we’re still obsessed with this sitcom that followed med students at Sacred Heart. There's something about seeing all the doctor shenanigans, the laughs, the heartwarming moments - that we all missed, because those "fake doctors" became our real friends! This show gave us an inside peek at what it was like to be an intern, going through those struggles and awkward moments and seeing the hospital through fresh eyes. But now, imagine a world where you can get more of those laughs, maybe more touching moments. Maybe that's why it’s so popular; we can all relate!
With the return of this new, but familiar, season of Scrubs, we are hoping it will finally provide some closure to all of the show’s loyal fans. There’s just something nostalgic and heartwarming about revisiting the Sacred Heart Hospital. We can’t wait to see where the “fake doctors” are headed. It's been a wild journey! Maybe we can also finally get to see JD reunite with Turk's love of his life: Carla. It seems like this sitcom’s gonna take on new, and old, life!
