Movies News Talk
Disney's D23 event took place a few weeks after San Diego Comic-Con, and it gave Marvel a chance to reveal a little more about their exciting DC Universe plans. We heard lots about the new Ironheart, Daredevil and upcoming Movies! Let's just say things got serious, for Marvel, in Anaheim. At Comic-Con, they were all about the movies, but at D23, it was time to dig into the TV universe and everything Marvel was brewing for fans!
While the convention brought us exciting news and those big screens showed trailers and exclusive looks, a lot of information got leaked before and after the big announcements, so fans around the world were practically bursting with curiosity. But hold onto your popcorn, folks! Marvel dropped some pretty awesome teasers! Get ready to explore the MCU's latest adventures!
Remember that epic trailer for "Daredevil: Born Again"? You’re going to love this new iteration of the character, and everyone is excited to see how his story connects with the current MCU. Now, the "Daredevil: Born Again" teaser had fans wondering who that villain might be: the villain who’s shown tagging buildings and starting a whole art controversy. Well, now everyone knows it’s a dude called “Muse”! This villain can go invisible, making it a seriously tough opponent for Daredevil, but also a great chance to see more of those "superhero lawyer" action scenes.
The teaser gave a few glimpses of characters everyone loves, such as Kingpin and a few classic looks at those “Daredevil” heroes like Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, but it did make it official – "Daredevil: Born Again" will premiere on Disney+ in March, 2025! Buckle up, it's going to be one wild ride.
We all loved those Daredevil Netflix series with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio’s character, right? And "Daredevil: Born Again" looks like it’ll make a splash! This series will continue to grow Daredevil’s universe and add a new spin to his story within the wider MCU, with that Daredevil and Ms. Marvel crossover (because when Daredevil isn’t battling criminals, it seems he has a lot of time to help save those across the river! ). If it follows that original comic arc of Daredevil’s villain, Muse, who knows? We might even see Daredevil’s adventures move off from just New York to a new, unknown part of the MCU!
Fans were given a sneak peek of the show's big moments during D23, with a sneak peek that teased us about how the whole show’s story might go down.
Marvel dropped some serious bombshell with that first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World – everyone’s still wondering what Harrison Ford is doing, being the latest actor in the “MCU” series, in that huge villainous Red Hulk role. Turns out, the guy really does have Red Hulk superpowers and now the trailers finally confirmed his true identity!
For anyone wondering how that "transformation" thing worked, there were hints in the previous trailer of the giant red-hued monstrosity, but D23 revealed that Thunderbolt Ross is totally going to go Red Hulk! That means those familiar MCU movie fans have to buckle up because we’re looking at a big battle between two strong MCU stars.
Remember that mysterious “Agatha All Along” series? Well, fans got the low-down on it. We knew Agnes from "WandaVision" was pretty mysterious, but in this new Disney+ series, Agatha's ready for another magical mayhem! Now, she’s not messing around with Wanda's magical shenanigans, but taking a deep dive into the mysteries of her own magic with some very unusual allies!
At D23, Marvel dropped the official “Agatha All Along" trailer, and we finally got to see how Agatha is going to get back those amazing magical powers that Wanda took away in "WandaVision". Let’s just say she is on a serious quest. Fans can expect to see Agatha really shake up that magic-verse!
And those "Fantastic Four" costumes, you gotta check out those first looks from the D23 stage. It looked like "First Steps" was getting a complete redesign. We even saw the Human Torch’s amazing, new suit!
With all the attention, “Fantastic Four: First Steps" looks like it could completely transform the MCU. From those initial concepts, they were pulling off the '60s style of that classic era. That costume, all the retro vibes – it’s like “Fantastic Four: First Steps” is really looking to take the world of comics by storm! Plus, there was that little reveal that Michael Giacchino is creating a unique, beautiful soundtrack to match! The excitement around that film is sky-high.
Marvel brought us some animation news, too! That 2D “Spider-Man” series, "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" is getting into that whole "early-Peter-Parker" thing. It was always going to have Tom Holland's Spidey in the animated form, and, in those concept drawings that were teased earlier, we’ve seen a whole host of Marvel heroes and villains showing up!
What Marvel is really bringing out is the true essence of the comic book. That means lots of cameos, a great soundtrack, a mix of adventure, and lots of great fight scenes to make everyone feel all nostalgic, just like a big ol' Marvel event.
