The Walking Dead: When Will Rick Grimes Be Back?
If you've been keeping up with The Walking Dead universe, then you know things are super confusing. Remember the last season of the main series when they hinted that Rick might be coming back? Then The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live happened, with Rick and Michonne (did you see those awesome reunion scenes? Talk about tears!) reuniting, and we all breathed a sigh of relief. Except we're not really out of the woods. How much time has passed since those finale scenes?
Here's the breakdown: we all loved The Walking Dead, but when it's a show that has so many spin-offs (Fear the Walking Dead and World Beyond just to name a few) keeping track of what happens when gets complicated. But it looks like things might be starting to fall into place with some big updates on Daryl Dixon – the new spinoff. A whole bunch of fans are wondering if Carol actually knows that Rick's on his way back! Now we just have to figure out if Daryl Dixon will give us any clues.
A New Season of "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon"
Now we're jumping into that new Daryl Dixon show – and to make things even more interesting, we know there's gonna be a Season 2. We’ve got a bunch of teasers and updates, including that Season 2 is officially titled "The Book of Carol", but the biggest mystery has been figuring out how much time has gone by.
Season 1 was basically two months or three after that last season finale of The Walking Dead. But we know there isn't going to be a huge jump in the timeline with Season 2 because, get this, "The Book of Carol" is gonna start up on the same day that the first season ended. What does that mean? This could mean that there will be a lot more references to The Ones Who Live and that it will shed light on what actually went down with Rick. Could it be that the rumors of him being back in Alexandria were confirmed, and Carol knows this, making her make a wild, almost-impossible trek over to France to try and find him!?
What If Carol Actually Knows About Rick's Return
Remember that scene where Carol says over the radio "They came back"? Now we know the only people who have been officially "back" are Rick and Michonne, and you just know Carol would want to see Daryl! And the fact that they confirmed the timing of both shows - The Walking Dead, The Ones Who Live, and The Book of Carol – could mean this is exactly where the plot is heading. If those details line up, it looks like Carol is heading for a pretty emotional, and possibly dangerous reunion, right on French soil!
And while "The Book of Carol" sounds a little on the gloomy side, it's really great that we’re getting a more fleshed-out Carol storyline. Think of it like this – the creators have two whole seasons (with a potential third coming up!) to make a lot of those hints and rumors about Rick come true! After that amazing ending, we all need some extra “walking dead” drama!
Waiting on the Next Chapter
You guys are going to have to wait a bit! We’re waiting on the final season for “Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol" to come out for more details, and, really, we’re just hoping that Carol actually makes the link that those Returning people mean Rick is finally back where he belongs!
And if Rick makes an appearance? You'd better believe everyone will be tuning in. It’s an opportunity for some crazy plot twists, maybe even a scene of those epic characters back together on the same show - Rick, Carol, and Daryl. We can only imagine those stories in The Walking Dead! We're all patiently waiting on the Return of the best and possibly one of the biggest things in television - "The Walking Dead." So buckle up and get ready, because this is gonna be a wild ride, we promise!
