Significance of Benedict's Storyline for Future of Bridgerton
While also laying some fascinating new dynamics to investigate in the future, the ending of *Bridgerton* Season 3 finishes a lot of story lines. Every season of the show so has centered on a fresh set of people, tracking their romance over several episodes. Quinn's books imply that although the program does not change the Bridgerton novels in line, so it is not yet evident who will take front stage in season 4. Quinn's books reveal that there are still several people destined to be the spotlight in seasons future.
Brownell recently said that a season of *Bridgerton* takes about two years to produce, hence season 4 might not show up until 2026. The key romances in seasons 1, 2, and 3 have thus thus thus been between a man and a woman. Knowing Benedict is an LGBTQ+ character indicates that next seasons can buck this tendency. Though the main romance in this book is between Benedict and Sophie Beckett, the latest reveal in Season 3 part 2 means some interesting wrinkles can be introduced into this story when the show finally adapts it. *An Offer From A Gentleman* is the Quinn novel most entirely focused on Benedict's story.
Showrunner of Bridgerton Jess Brownell explains the Big Reveal in Benedict's Story in Season 3, Part 2, and future exploration of those themes.
Showrunner for *Bridgerton*, Jess Brownell, details Benedict's main season 3, part 2 story surprise. Based on Julia Quinn's bestselling book series, Netflix's *Bridgerton* launched in 2020 and became somewhat well-known right away. Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin's (Luke Newton) love story in season 3 drives the program, which chronicles the romantic life of the Bridgerton family in Regency-era England, although Benedict (Luke Thompson) also has a major moment. The controversial scene has Benedict finally investigating his bisexuality in a threesome with Lady Tilley and Paul.
Brownell details Benedict's pivotal scene in *Bridgerton* season 3, part 2 in a recent interview with Glamour. The showrunner claims that at last leaning into Benedict's sexuality matched the greater plot of the season with his striving to find his place in the world. She also implies that another character moving forward will pursue these ideas. See Brownell's complete response down below:
Bridgerton's World
Netflix's *Bridgerton* is based on the romance books of the same name by novelist Julia Quinn, from Shondaland and producer Chris Van Dusen. The Importance of Benedict
"I personally believe Benedict reads as homosexual in seasons 1 and 2; many viewers have felt the same way as well. In the writers room, we sought to make sense of that in a season Benedict is figuring out his place in society and what it means for him to feel a little different and how he might dodge the laws of society while being true to himself. His embracing his queerness seemed like a wonderful approach to depict that narrative.
"I enjoy having several forms of LGBT representation on the show. As there are queer people, there are as many various sorts of queer experiences available. We will see a somewhat different version of it with Francesca in the future; we will see a version of it with Benedict here now.
A Forecast
Brownell naturally also implies that Francesca (Hannah Dodd) could tackle LGBTQ+ issues. Although Francesca's sexuality has been something of a mystery throughout the program thus far, *Bridgerton* season 4 could see this shift as the heroine shares more about herself, to viewers and to other characters. Though it's still to be seen how Benedict's narrative will turn out in next seasons of *Bridgerton*, it's most likely going to be significant going ahead.
