The world of James Bond is getting ready for a new chapter. Daniel Craig's run as 007 ended with "No Time to Die" in 2021, leaving fans wondering who will take up the mantle next! So get ready!
The 26th James Bond movie is officially happening, but details are still pretty scarce. After Amazon bought MGM in 2022, there were a few jitters, but producer Michael G. Wilson confirmed 007's return. Jennifer Salke from Amazon MGM, spilled some tea in October 2024, saying they want to do things right, not rush things.
This is the BIG question. Some heavy hitters are thrown around, like Idris Elba and Tom Hardy. Elba isn't interested. So, who could it be?
Rumors flew around that Taylor-Johnson even got the job in March 2024. No confirmation though. So, mystery reigns supreme!
Could we see some familiar faces alongside the new 007? SoMe of Craig's costars expressed interest!
A fresh start could also work, though. Let's just say lots of different paths could happen.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, only hinting that the upcoming film is setting up another "soft reboot," typical of when we have a brand new Bond! This reboot ties into the character taking over the role of 007. Fans will want to learn more about the movie. In the last installment, No Time to Die there's that character Nomi. The movie hints the new 007 won't just be another actor and James Bond will continue to play his role.
Sadly, we've got nothing concrete about a release date. Salke indicated that Amazon would avoid too much time between movies! It shows they will take a considerable amount of time! With so much unknown about who will actually end up taking on 007 there isn't really anything announced on the timing. For now, we only have to hope and wait as the new Bond enters this action-packed new chapter. It is sure to attract a massive fan base!
Overall, there’s excitement. Yet also the huge task ahead of them as it will surely be very different without Daniel Craig and how he's been able to keep the legacy going.
