"Wade Wilson III" Upgrade from Deadpool Has Instant Healing
Having kept Deadpool alive even through events like being decapitated and burned to ash, his Healing Factor is quite strong. Only very rare weapons have any chance to kill Deadpool; indeed, in Marvel's far future, Deadpool's daughter had to create a sophisticated sci-fi weapon to do so, burning them both with neutrino bombs and subsequently collapsing the entire explosion into a black hole so no biological material could escape to regenerate.
Wade's "healing factor," as Black Panther vs Deadpool (Daniel Kibblesmith and Ricardo López Ortiz) confirms, is really a "dying factor." Instead of preserving his healthy physique, Deadpool's powers rejuvenate malignant cells then preserve them in a state of non-degenerative stasis. Although this is how Deadpool can regenerate, it also implies that his many exploits have rendered it impossible for him to exist without his abilities.
Deadpool Just Unlocked the Ultimate Form of His Healing Factor, Making Him Really Unstoppable.
Wade Wilson's already extremely strong healing ability just reaches the next level as Deadpool embarts on a wild new life. Thanks to Weapon X's brutal trials, Deadpool has one of the most potent healing powers in the Marvel Universe; he can rapidly recover from injuries that would kill most other heroes. Wade is now even more unbeatable after more testing; this is a major issue since Wolverine must destroy Deadpool to assist him.
In a preview of Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII #2, Wolverine fights the recently renamed "Wade Wilson III," the antihero formerly known as Deadpool. The wicked Delta has taken over Deadpool; he has been enhanced with energy katanas that come from his wrists. During their battle, Wolverine cuts off Deadpool's arm to get an advantage; only Wade quickly heals it with Delta's tech's unmistakable glitter.
The upgraded Wade, new and fresh
Last issue: Delta, fixated on extreme transformation, captured Deadpool. Arriving just in time to witness Wade reincarnated, Wolverine was now sporting a fresh outfit and exuding more strength. Delta has also apparently brainwashing Deadpool by rejecting his prior codename and typical motormouth language and even declaring, "I prefer the quiet."
If Deadpool were not always battling his disease, his healing factor would be so strong that it would kill him. In Deadpool vol. 4 #1 (Daniel Way and Paco Medina), the extraterrestrial shapeshifters known as the Skrulls synthesis a version of Wade's healing only to be destroyed when their bodies exploded from the exponential, uncontrollable cell regeneration that followed.
Second WWIII for Deadpool and Wolverine
50 years after he first encountered the Marvel Universe, Wolverine just received his best quotation of all time, precisely characterizing his path.
Although Deadpool has always been able to survive almost anything, he normally needs time to recover from significant harm. Wade's recovering body really often needs to "age up" to match his adult form; stories of him being pushed to endure having a baby-like physique until the healing process is finished abound. Deadpool 2 depicts Ryan Reynolds' Wade going through this following Juggernaut's split in half in the movies. But thanks to Delta's changes, Wade heals right away from his damage, regrowing not just his arm but also his new energy katana claws.
Thanks to Wade's healing factor and clever (if off-kilter) tactical genius, Wolverine has always battled to bring Deadpool back to his senses. With this most recent update, it's hard to see how Logan might win this battle.
Marvel Comics June 12 has WWIII #2, Deadpool and Wolverine.
