Following ten years of negotiations on a possible show comeback, a White Collar resurrection has been formally confirmed to be under development. Running for six seasons on the USA Network, the comedy police procedural centered on Matt Bomer's elusive con artist Neal Caffrey as he deals with the FBI to help them track down dangerous white-collar criminals in exchange for his early release from prison, under direct partnership with Tim Dekay's Special Agent Burke. Critics and viewers both praised the show for its original idea and cases as well as for the actors' performances along its course.
Creator Jeff Eastin revealed at a recent Variety TV Fest panel that a new White Collar show is under development. Stars Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, and Tiffany Thiessen, who were on the panel with him, all confirmed they will be returning for the project in addition to verifying he is writing the script for the Revival. Tim DeYork: The script is excellent; it addresses all the questions one would have if they watched the show and would introduce it to people who haven't seen it as well. The sword has sharpened both sides. It also really honors Willie in a deep sense. With that heart and that compassion. After I completed it, I informed Jeff that I actually felt quite excited but also started to cry for good cause. In that relaunch, you caught the suspense, the excitement, the people and the love.
There's also a lot for Eastin and co. to live up to since De Kay guarantees that the White Collar revival would answer "all the questions" longtime viewers of the program held following its series finale. Though is apparently content with as he focuses on raising his and Elizabeth's kid, suitably named after his friend, the White Collar ending notably closed with Neal faking his death and apparently returning to his criminal lifestyle, all of which Burke learns a year later. It will be intriguing to see if the backdrop moves to Europe for the revival and how Neal and Burke will be reunited given the finale also had hinted Bomer's character now in Europe for more heists.
