Dave Filoni, co-creator of Ahsoka, revealed her Original Clone Wars Story.
One of the co-creators of *Star Wars: The Clone Wars*, Dave Filoni lately shared his initial ideas for Ahsoka Tano's narrative on the program. Though she started in *The Clone Wars*, Ahsoka has become among the most powerful characters in *Star Wars*. Among the most well-known characters in *The Clone Wars*, Ahsoka's character dominated most of the plot of the program. Filoni recently discussed how different Ahsoka first was, and his initial idea for her may have changed the whole *Clone Wars* chronicle.
Filoni told WGA West that George Lucas helped them polish her story and that the initial Ahsoka concept was even harsher than the finished one.
The Ahsoka Show Restored Part of Dave Filoni's Original Idea
Filoni's original concept for Ahsoka wasn't totally thrown aside even if it didn't appeal in *The Clone Wars*. Later, Filoni oversaw *Ahsoka*, which explored the trauma Ahsoka underwent more deeply. *Ahsoka* was also aimed at a far more mature audience than *The Clone Wars* was, which perhaps let Filoni go back over the darker tale he first developed. Examining its main character's past, especially in relation to the *Clone Wars* and her master, Anakin Skywalker, quite a chunk of *Ahsoka* looked at it all through a more adult perspective.
One scene in particular from *Ahsoka* emphasizes what Filoni's first concept for *The Clone Wars* might have looked like: Ahsoka's view of the *Clone Wars* she encountered in the World Between Worlds. That scene had considerably more of the "out of her element" quality Filoni had in mind for Ahsoka, and it displayed her as a youthful Padawan once more. Ahsoka felt in that image like what she was: a child engaged in combat. Emphasizing the atrocities of the *Clone Wars* and analyzing the morality of the Jedi's employment of child troops, there was no sense of pleasure or adventure.
Ahsoka: An Epic Story
Ahsoka Tano, an outstanding Padawan serving during the Clone Wars, was Anakin Skywalker's apprentice. Disillusioned with the Jedi Council, Ahsoka left the Jedi but later returned to serve in the Siege of Mandalore at the end of the *Clone Wars*. She survived Order 66, turned Rebel agent during the Dark Times of the Empire, and her exploits carry on in the New Republic era. Last seen abandoned in a far-off galaxy, Ahsoka failed to stop Grand Admiral Thrawn's comeback.
Ahsoka's vision also underlined the grief and remorse she experienced for participating in the *Clone Wars* as well as the burden those events left behind. Ahsoka's character is reexamined somewhat darkly, and it seems that Filoni's original idea for her greatly inspired this. *Ahsoka* also seems to be Filoni's method of maturing with his audience: *The Clone Wars*' major viewers were children when it first aired and adults today, therefore *Ahsoka* changed its tone. Although the darker narrative would have worked for *Ahsoka*, it's most likely better that she stayed an adventurous child in *The Clone Wars*.

A View into Ahsoka's Early Days
Our first rendition was very dismal. As kids, we loved it; it was fun and motivating; but now we have to take it seriously; this happens a lot with Star Wars and I'm not sure why. Our first edit therefore was a young woman caught in a battle, trained to be a peacekeeper, and completely out of her environment. There is tension and death is defying, but George saw differently. This small child, he said, is Jedi Knight trained. She is up to the task; the times don't really matter to her. You people are treating things too seriously; have some more fun with it.
Filoni and Lucas's conversation suggests that Ahsoka could have been a rather different character had her first plan for her worked out. Filoni's concepts almost made Ahsoka more darker, and had Lucas not interfered, that version might have taken front stage. Ahsoka was a youthful but very talented Padawan in the last iteration of *The Clone Wars; her excursions seemed to be thrilling adventures. Though they came off as mishaps, Ahsoka goes through terrible events including kidnapping and almost death dozens of times. Filoni has lately changed his views on both his first gloomy ideas and those events.
