Madden NFL 25 Release Date & Platforms
Madden Nfl 25 hits the shelves on Friday, August 16th, 2024. If you're in the eastern time zone, you'll have to wait until midnight, but folks in earlier zones can get their game on Thursday night! And get this – early access kicks off even sooner on August 13th. So basically, everyone's getting to play the game sooner than ever, which is super awesome. Madden NFL 25 is also on pretty much every major console - Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and even PC. Yeah, if you're a PC player, you can score it on Steam, Windows, the Epic Games Store, and even EA's own store! Way more choices than that recent College Football game.
Madden NFL 25 Pre-Order Bonuses - Stuff To Score!
Madden fans love to score bonus content. Pre-orders give you some serious swag to up your game. Whether you are rocking Ultimate Team or Superstar Mode, there are things waiting for you if you snag that pre-order. If you're going for Ultimate Team, you get an awesome Elite Player version of Christian McCaffrey. You'll also get to choose two "Strategy Items," which help beef up your team's playbook, one for the offensive guys and another for the defense squad. And if you're on that Superstar grind, then the Legendary XP boost is going to become your best friend, super-powering your Superstar player levels fast. And oh yeah, there’s the "Superstar Drip Gear" for a gold drip jersey for those on Xbox and Playstation 5, and for everyone, it’s just a great pre-order bonus!
Madden NFL 25 Editions - What Are the Best Choices?
There are basically two main versions of the game: Standard and Deluxe. Standard will set you back around $70, while Deluxe is about $100. You can say that the Deluxe version is for the “hardcore” Madden player - but in the end, there aren’t huge differences between the editions! The only extra you’re getting with Deluxe is Early Access (which starts on the 13th, so basically you have a whole extra day to play). Plus, it gives you 4,600 Madden Points for in-game use! Now, you can buy Madden Points in-game. It might seem like a discount getting the 4,600, but really it’s up to you, and if you're already going to buy Madden Points, Deluxe could make sense, if you're on the fence? Standard is the way to go.
And in case you're interested in both Madden Nfl 25 and the College Football 25 (for those gamers who love to play through college seasons) then check out the "MVP Bundle," which has the Deluxe Edition of both for around $150. That's a whole lot cheaper, especially if you plan to go heavy into those Madden Points. This offer is only on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. So there you have it - Deluxe isn't that much different but has extra benefits!
Madden NFL 25: Under the Hood, Gameplay Changes
Now you're thinking, "Is this really going to be different from the past Madden games? Will the new Madden just feel like the same thing but with updated rosters?" You know what? It might feel similar at first because Madden is known for doing a super good job of those core gameplay elements that make those Football games feel right! So yeah, the base of the game probably won’t have some super drastic shakeup, it's still about those NFL stars, game strategies, and those sweet plays that let you pull off that last-minute victory!
But EA Sports is definitely adding in a bunch of awesome new features to those game modes. You’ve got Superstar Mode where you make your own custom player and make a name for yourself in the league, Franchise Mode, and Ultimate Team mode. But here’s a tip: the Deluxe Edition won't matter much if you don’t like Ultimate Team, which a lot of players avoid, because it gives a bit of an edge to players who shell out cash.
If you’re one of those players, then keep your eyes open, since Franchise Mode has had some changes like, interacting with those virtual players and even being able to have your virtual coach be male or female - that's a major win! Now that’s some inclusive playmaking.

There are tons of reviews for every Madden, but let’s face it – it all comes down to whether you are really excited to be back in those football boots and taking to the field. So are you going for the standard game or a Deluxe upgrade? Do those pre-order bonuses sway you or are you waiting for some gameplay footage? No matter what you decide - Madden NFL 25 is right around the corner!
