VATS: An Awesome Way to Target and Take Down Enemies!
We all love VATS. It lets you pause the game, zero in on enemies, and pick out exactly what you want to blast off of. However, getting those shots to actually hit isn't always the most satisfying experience. Luckily for us, a clever player found an amazing trick in Fallout 4 that pretty much guarantees your hits! It sounds almost too good to be true! And in a game as crazy as Fallout 4? Who are we to argue with a chance to rack up some more kills?
Before this new tactic, the standard way to aim in VATS involved focusing on certain body parts and your odds of hitting. You know those numbers that show up - they kind of make it a game within a game, trying to make that perfect shot with the most likely hit rate. If that was it, you were outta Luck with anything under 30%, or so it seemed.
Camera Angle Matters!
Reddit player PaddyVu decided to analyze the system a little more closely. He figured out that a certain camera angle really makes a difference. VATS uses a few different Camera Angles when you aim – a shoulder shot or a zoom. Now, here’s where it gets sneaky: When the zoom camera angle happens, it almost always means your shot’s gonna hit! The only exceptions would be those moments when the enemy pops behind cover, or maybe a random tree trunk gets in the way!
By realizing this, PaddyVu devised a pretty sneaky strategy - they discovered you could cancel shots when it was the shoulder-shot Camera Angle, then re-enter VATS and hope to catch that perfect zoom shot. That’s all!
Get Lucky with a Fallout 4 Luck Build
Even though this tactic might be perfect for a gamer who is ready to grind it out, the best part? It doesn’t just help with hitting! There's a perk in Fallout 4 called "Grim Reaper's Sprint," which means your character will sometimes get all of their action points back after a kill - talk about a superpower! The catch? The kill needs to be a VATS-aided kill. It gets even better with another perk called “Mysterious Stranger,” where a randomly controlled gunman comes in to save the day and assist in the kills! You need those hits to happen. That's where the new camera angle hack comes in. Now you’ve got that powerful ability!
With this in mind, a whole different strategy could emerge. We are talking “Luck” based character builds! Since your odds of getting the Critical meter filled are going to skyrocket, it’ll make those VATS shots even deadlier! Those Perks make those crit shots even better! Talk about an endless supply of power for that baddie obliteration. You get those crits!
The Benefits of a Luck-Based VATS Build
And who needs a massive Perception stat if you already know that your camera angle's got the edge on hitting, right? A more focused "Luck" character could even be good to have if you want to save those action points. If you aren’t focused on that Perception stat, it means you might not need those other ones! Maybe Agility won't be that crucial. Or maybe Strength won't matter if you’re a "gun runner". Now, you might find yourself asking "why did I need all of these Stats after all!"
If you don’t need to level those skills, maybe there are other things you should focus on, like Luck. Because having more luck can make finding bullets even easier - not just the act of aiming and hitting! Think about it, it's the ultimate cycle! You need a bunch of VATS hits. So you have better "Luck", and more action points for that "Grim Reaper's Sprint". But it’s a game-changer - making sure those VATS kills can happen! If you're ready to try a different kind of Fallout 4 character Build, then a "Luck" focused VATS character just might be the most enjoyable you've played yet!
Beyond VATS
One of the really fun parts about Fallout 4, aside from this whole "killing zombies" thing, is figuring out how to do better with all those mechanics that they included in the game. Maybe if this Trick catches on, you'll start to see all sorts of other game strategies that will give your Fallout 4 gameplay an awesome twist.
Think about how the rest of the Fallout community might be experimenting. The real joy comes in the ingenuity, seeing those "glitch" moments and turning them into cool Tricks! We might find there's a hidden code to make the VATS camera angle even more guaranteed or another cheat to get a better Crit rating. The real enjoyment, at the end of the day, comes from figuring out how the whole system works!
