The Deadpool and Spider-Man Team-Up is (Finally?) in Our Sights
Okay, you guys, if you've seen Deadpool and Wolverine you know one thing's clear: This movie is all about breaking the fourth wall and playing around with those epic crossover dreams we have, especially between Marvel's beloved characters. The whole thing had fans buzzing, because, hey, why NOT do a Spider-Man and Deadpool crossover when everyone is having so much fun doing this massive multiversal team-up already! And what better way to show fans that we're all in than with those well-placed easter eggs?
Honestly, this Deadpool & Wolverine film is kinda a perfect showcase of Marvel at their best - lots of craziness, cameos that got folks speculating, and, of course, lots of wild twists! We've already got Ryan Reynolds being Ryan Reynolds – always up for a hilarious moment - and it felt so good to see Hugh Jackman back in his Wolverine claws. But between those epic movie moments, a bunch of awesome references to the Spider-Man franchise, particularly to Tom Holland's run, kept popping up! And they got me thinking…this could be a major set-up! It just might push that "dream" team-up from "what if" to "what now!"
4 Sneaky Spider-Man Easter Eggs That Hint at the Big Crossover
Marvel Studios is sneaky like a good superhero movie! If we start looking, the Spider-Man Easter Eggs are totally popping out in Deadpool & Wolverine. There are these clever nods in how Deadpool & Wolverine are shot and acted out – like, one big brawl that totally copies a Spidey and Flash Thompson battle scene in the classic Spider-Man movie, and even this moment where Deadpool's wearing his mask with Tony Stark and Peter's picture on the Iron Man helmet behind him. The Deadpool & Wolverine script is also packed with so many Spider-Man references, like those "Thwip" noises – and for the true fan? You'll catch that one last awesome crossover scene that is more of an in-joke because Tom Holland's brother, Harry Holland, pops up with the whole Deadpool Corps. That’s just the cherry on top.
It’s clear that Marvel was doing everything they could to incorporate some serious Spider-Man action, despite being limited because of Sony's hold on those rights to Spidey. It's kinda wild that Deadpool & Wolverine has made it into a major storyline in a subtle but cool way! Now we’re asking “What’s Next for Spidey and Deadpool?”. You guys are already in the know.
A Comic Book Crossover: Why We’re So Psyched for Spidey and Deadpool to Team-Up!
We all know how awesome it's been to watch Marvel Comics bring Deadpool and Spider-Man together! This pair, these awesome heroes with their endless sarcasm? It's not even surprising! The original issue with these two going toe-to-toe, just filled with hilarious jokes about their mothers, kinda sealed the deal - who wouldn’t want more of those hilarious bits!
But those jokes are only the beginning of an amazing, long-running comic series called "Deadpool/Spider-Man", running for three years (50 issues in all!). We’re also talking about the duo making a super fun crossover on "Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man," where Deadpool got this whole animated makeover that had him making everyone giggle! Now, after Deadpool & Wolverine, there’s an expectation that this has got to become the new go-to movie, for all those awesome action-packed and, of course, comedy-driven moments!
Spidey and Deadpool on the Big Screen: The Actors are On Board!
Let’s just say that Deadpool & Wolverine might've been a teaser, because it was pretty clear in the interviews afterwards that the key players, the main actors for these Movies, are super ready! When Entertainment Weekly asked Ryan Reynolds who his dream teammate would be, he had one person in mind! “Spider-Man - Tom Holland,” was the straight-up response. And if you want some added icing, you know those two awesome guys, the directors from those Avengers flicks – the Russo Brothers - are coming back for two more Avengers films and if all those factors lined up perfectly, it could easily happen!
Who could ask for more from this crossover world? And the best part is we don't even have to convince everyone anymore! Ryan, Hugh, and even Shawn Levy (who’s worked with everyone!) - they all want this done. This is why the Marvel Universe is doing so well – everyone's having fun, everyone's creative, and, of course, they all love their characters. They've done it with Marvel, and they are totally ready to knock this Deadpool and Spider-Man movie out of the park! So if we start to see all those hints that a Marvel Universe Team-Up is coming, get your Spidey senses ready, you'll probably have an excellent feeling!
