S-Cell Theory helps Akira Toriyama to explain Goku's Power Advantage Over Vegeta.

Toriyama's Theory of S Cells Shows Why Goku Constant Beats Vegeta

Toriyama discussed in a January 2018 Saikyo Jump interview, translated by Kanzenshuu, the process of reaching Super Saiyan and what precisely that includes. "In order to become a Super Saiyan, one's body must contain something called 'S-Cells,'" Toriyama continues. Once these S-Cells reach a particular level, a trigger like rage will explosively raise the S-Cells and alter the body; that is Super Saiyan. Toriyama continues, saying that every Saiyan has S-cells, particularly not in the quantity required to become a Super Saiyan.

More fascinating is Toriyama's method of explaining how one should grow S-cells. According to Toriyama, a mild spirit can allow S-Cells to grow; but, a gentle spirit by itself is insufficient; one also needs some degree of battle power and experience. Most Saiyans have raucous, violent personalities like Vegeta, thus S-Cells became quite rare and the Super Saiyan vanished into myth and legend. But uncommon is a gentle-spirited Saiyan with great battle experience who also has the ideal mix of elements to set off Super Saiyan for the first time in millennia.

"Most Saiyans Have Trouble": Akira Toriyama Already Clearly Said the Real Reason Goku Will Always Be Stronger than Vegeta

While Dragon Ball makes it abundantly clear that Goku is always going to keep one step ahead of his fellow Saiyan when it comes to power, Vegeta may be endlessly frustrated by it. As it happens, the answer resides solely in an Akira Toriyama interview; the reason that's the case is really straightforward and rational.

In terms of power, Goku shot ahead of Vegeta from the moment he gained Super Saiyan for the first time; he has been in front of him essentially ever then. That's not to minimize Vegeta's might in any sense; he is unquestionably a strong warrior, but much to his annoyance, Goku is the one continually shattering preconceptions and demonstrating what actual levels of strength are capable. One of Vegeta's main incentives to train himself harder, it is a fundamental component of the pair's rivalry.

The Rivalry Never-ending

Dragon Ball is a huge multimedia series spanning back to the 1980s from the creative mind of Akira Toriyama. Originally serialized manga for Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan, Dragon Ball grew rapidly. It found its way abroad via a manga and an anime version enjoyed all around. Originally commencing with the exploits of the young Son Goku as he pursued the Dragon Balls, Dragon Ball was the first animated series. Any person who gathered these enchanted balls would be granted their wish. The show would then veer off into the wildly popular Dragon Ball Z, which followed Goku as an adult and had high-intensity combat and Goku's never-ending drive to be the strongest. Up to the most recent successful Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the series has also had multiple popular video game adaptations and still running several new animated series and theatrical movies.

The narrative still makes many people happy; the show has enthralled viewers and become among the most watched anime of all time.

Goku and Vegeta: An Ages-Based Rivalry

Toriyama himself claims that Goku will always find it simpler to unlock higher levels of Super Saiyan as his body and temperament are exactly fit for the requirements for success. Vegeta, on the other hand, lacks that kind spirit; while he's grown more calm and loving over the years, he still battles with keeping his attitude in check, and so long as that's the case, he'll never truly be able to catch up with Goku. Thus, among the best decisions Vegeta has ever taken in terms of raising his power is definitely meeting Goku and living (mostly) happily on Earth.

Though they are continually pushing one another to ever higher degrees and may be perpetual rivals, Goku and Vegeta seem to be always just behind each other depending mostly on their personalities. Though this would be somewhat annoying for Vegeta to hear, even the power he now possesses is rather indicative of what a positive influence Goku has had on him. Though Goku might remain one step ahead of Vegeta, without Dragon Ball's biggest competition Vegeta would never have attained the levels of power he now enjoys.

Though most Dragon Ball enthusiasts have heard of the Super Saiyan transformation, there are more variants of this power-up than first seems.

The Super Saiyan transformations have multiple iterations. Through their battle, Goku and Vegeta keep becoming stronger and challenge themselves to always higher levels. The show is rather popular because of the several adaptations illustrating the utilization of the Super Saiyan metamorphosis.

The changes are highlighted throughout the series; the most remarkable is Super Saiyan God, Goku's most potent metamorphosis thus far. The Dragon Ball series's core is embodied in the metamorphoses.
