Rare Starfield NPC Paisley Hopkins owns an alien pet.
Randomly appearing NPC Paisley Hopkins in Starfield has been discovered by several, notably user tgunited on Reddit, walking on a planet with her trusty alien companion looking like Grumble. Hopkins, a traveling trader trying to sell her goods throughout several Settled Systems, is Captain of a ship called Discovery. Grumble seems calm and docile, unlike the too aggressive Ashta that afflict the citizens of Akila City; the ideal Starfield space pet.
Among the darkest crimes done in Starfield mythology was the murdering of every dog and cat. Although it is not entirely proven that every species of pet has become extinct, the game lacks traditional pets and it is hard to tame some aliens to grow or breed them in an Outpost, which feels like a somewhat squandered chance. Having Paisley Hopkins and Grumble, however, shows that an Alien Pet is feasible in the game and might form the basis for a player-oriented pet feature going forward.
What Happened to Starfield's Dogs?
Starfield lore suggests that at least one species of dog is formally extinct, even although the presence of pets in Starfield is still somewhat disputed online. As discovered by CanYouPetTheDog on X, the dependably pleasant and loveable Labrador Retriever allegedly no longer exists for sure. Chocolate Labs says the candy is "shaped like an extinct canine called a Labrador Retriever."
Along with the picture comes Starfield concept art of a cat strolling with a Starfield astronaut, suggesting that at least once, cats were thought of as features on space stations or spaceships. Sadly for those who enjoy cats, this never really materialized since the Adoring Fan friend is the closest thing to a pet in Starfield.
Fallout Had Dogmeat; Starfield Should Have Alien Meat.
The relentless Dogmeat is among Bethesda's other major IP's most unforgettable friend. Originally almost every game in the Fallout series going back to 1997, Dogmeat was further developed in the newer Prime Video Fallout series. Originally called CX404, Dogmeat is a biologically altered German Shepard that has been improved since birth and possesses special super-dog powers, which help to explain its power in the series of games.
All said, Todd Howard has already verified that the Starfield and Fallout worlds are not connected, hence the sad intended narrative beat on the creator's hand is the extermination of all known pets when civilization decides to depart Earth. Paisley does note that Grumble bumps into things aboard the spacecraft and presses buttons wildly, but it would still be great to have a friend while crossing space.
Paisley Hopkins hopefully marks the beginning of Starfield Pets.
If Bethesda wants to take a risk, it should find inspiration in the popularity of the recent indie hit, Palworld. People like interacting with animals, and Paisley Hopkins, the only person living in the whole Settled Systems with one, approaches an immersion-breaking narrative. Although some sequences suggest that some aliens could be employed at least in a farming capacity—as with the Aceles aliens during the Terrormorph storyline—it's difficult to conceive that no one else in the entire galaxy would desire to also have an Alien Pet.
Should Bethesda truly like to experiment, they would follow the Palworld path and actually help individuals to tame, propagate, and raise various aliens. Going even further, it would be fantastic if these animals could offer some type of special boost or benefit, therefore offering a gameplay purpose to test the concept outside of the cool appeal. In the end, it will be up to the game creators whether pets will be included into Starfield gameplay as well as the growing frequency of original characters like Paisley Hopkins.
Though one rare NPC could offer hope for a much-needed purpose in Shattered Space, Starfield is full with random encounters.
Even with hundreds or thousands of hours in the game, the massive open-world galaxy in Starfield offers a lot of hidden material including fascinating NPC and random encounters people may not come across. Sometimes interesting POIs and unusual, vivid Starfield planets are difficult to find; the randomly generating character of the game means some may never really come across some of the coolest stuff the videogame has to offer.
One unusual NPC can provide a glimpse into the future of the game's possibilities or intentions. Though specifics on the actual content included in Starfield Shattered Space are still few, looking at underlying mechanics for lesser-known characters might help one find hints of what's feasible with Creation Engine 2 and things the Starfield creators have already experimented with. One absent element in Starfield is one that has come to define Bethesda's other well-known science-fiction output.
Once Starfield's major campaigns end, there are several varying dimensions. The most fascinating ones found in the game are these ones here.
Starfield is a very detailed game with many other dimensions, including a large environment with many of elements. Players will have to search a large galaxy and engage with many different characters—including some of the most famous ones in the game. The game takes place in a futuristic cosmos with many separate sectors. Some are hostile to life while others are bursting with people.
Once Starfield finishes his primary missions, there is a lot of game content accessible. Several elements have been made known through gameplay. The several dimensions of the game will help fans to enjoy their exploration and gameplay.
