LEGO: Horizon Adventures has co-op multiplayer.
Aloy breaches the fourth wall to tell the trailer's narrator, "I have friends, y'know?!" before a gameplay sequence showing her teaming up with Varl over many levels at LEGO: Horizon Adventures' Summer Game Fest debut. Designed for two-person gaming without the necessity of split-screen, a PlayStation Blog accompanying the teaser stated players can play the game solo or with another player via couch or online Co-op.
Like with other LEGO games, the second player's character will probably have very different talents and abilities. Usually, either during the main narrative or a Free-Play version of a level that may be repeated later, these help players to explore other regions or unlock different objects. Although Aloy is headed in a rather different route, a Multiplayer Horizon experience is one the mainline series might greatly profit from, and being able to experience it here distinguishes this title even further.
Guerrilla Games Currently Have A Horizon Multiplayer Title Under Work.
This would definitely make LEGO: Horizon Adventures unique among the single-player experiences of the other Horizon games. During a December 2022 post on X, Guerrilla Games acknowledged an online Multiplayer addition to the Horizon series, noting among the studio numerous available positions for a single-player, online, and external project. Though there were some leaks of early alpha game footage back in January 2023, there has been very little official information regarding the multiplayer title.
Guerrilla's worldbuilding with the several tribes and personalities Aloy connects with on her trip has amassed an amazing cast ready for a multiplayer game; the post-apocalyptic version of the United States shown in the Horizon games is so rich and vivid. Though until then fans of the series should definitely be excited to play as some of their preferred supporting characters when LEGO: Horizon Adventures launches during the 2024 Christmas season. Hopefully, there will be more information regarding the online multiplayer titles soon.
LEGO Horizon Adventures: A Novel Approach to the Horizon Series
At Summer Game Fest 2024 Sony unveiled the first LEGO: Horizon Adventures teaser. The title is an adaptation of Guerrilla Games' praised open-world series in the vivid LEGO aesthetic following the introduction of LEGO's Horizon-themed building kits. Unlike the Horizon series, which started as PlayStation exclusives then migrated to PC, LEGO: Horizon Adventures will be a multiplatform release at launch, coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, along with Nintendo Switch, so bringing the series to Nintendo's console for the first time.
Though it lacked any actual information regarding the game's narrative, all of the major features players have come to expect from the Horizon series are still present. Horizon Adventures' reveal teaser showed an isometric perspective with gameplay more akin to the wider LEGO franchise than Horizon.
One major advantage LEGO: Horizon Adventures offers over the mainline games
With the legendary Thunderjaw wreashing the planet at one time, Aloy can be seen mixing future technology with ancient weaponry to fight against various mechanical dinosaur-esque animals. But unlike the other Horizon games, LEGO: Horizon Adventures boasts one significant element that fans had been yearning for.
Though it would surely create some interesting sequences if he were, there is no indication whether the Hot Dog Guy character from the opening minutes of the trailer would be playable in LEGO: Horizon Adventures.
The Horizon Forbidden West Universe
Horizon Forbidden West closes in a big cliffhanger, allowing the door to open for a possible third game to wrap Aloy's post-apocalyptic narrative.
Horizon Forbidden West's universe is a lovely and perilous one filled of breathtaking scenery, lethal species, and fascinating riddles. Guerrilla Games has produced a rich and immersive environment that fans are eager to return to; this planet is ready for discovery.
