After the Netflix series premiere, it took little time for the streamer to renew *Avatar: The Last Airbender* for a second season, but they went beyond a basic renewal. For not one but two more seasons, Netflix has chosen to acquire the live-action cartoon adaptation for which it promises to extend the *Last Airbender* tale all the way to its natural ending.

The latest updates suggest that Netflix is trying to cast Toph for *Avatar: The Last Airbender* Season 2, given the whole scope of the show is already set. Usually considered as the fiercest member of Aang's team, the adored Earthbender is a vital part of the "Gaang". The most of the cast of Netflix's *Avatar: The Last Airbender* will be back in Season 2 since the debut season just covered about the first season of the animated series. Most importantly, Gordon Cormier will play Avatar Aang again with Kiawentiio as Katara and Ian Ousley as Sokka. Ken Leung's Commander Zhao, who met his explosive death at the hands of Uncle Iroh, is the one character most definitely not returning for season 2.
Though her great sacrifice will see her replaying her part in the future, Amber Midthunder's Princess Yue may also not return. Though the part hasn't yet been assigned, the beloved Earthbender Toph is slated to join the cast of *Avatar: The Last Airbender* season 2 and Netflix released a global casting call in June 2024. In keeping with the handicap representation of the original show, the streamer wants to feature a blind or low vision actor.
