Inspired by Heather Morris's book of the same name, The Tattooist of Auschwitz chronicles Lale Sokolov's internment by the Nazis at the notorious Auschwitz-Birkenau during World War 2. Told in part by an elderly Lale in the present (Harvey Keitel), the show chronicles his trip and part in tattooing the identification numbers onto the arms of arriving convicts.
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a really moving film, as is to be expected considering the subject-matter, although absolutely one that will cause pause for reflection among Peacock members. Particularly Jonah Hauer-King as the younger incarnation of Harvey Keitel's character, the whole ensemble gives amazing performances in bringing the story of real-life Holocaust survivor Lale Sokolov to the screen.
