Inspired MCU-Ready Cosplay by Steven Gordon's Cyclops Design from X-Men: Evolution
Rivin makes minor changes from Gordon's design. Like the original, he has a thin visor, a traditional X-Men outfit with a yellow "X" stretching across the chest, gloves, and the red and black X-Men "X" insignia gracing each shoulder. The shoulder design does, however, vary somewhat. Whereas Rivin's adaptation chooses a smaller, more subdued "X," the animated version features almost hand-sized "X". He also gives his suit and metallic clasps different textures, therefore enhancing the design while still honoring the original.
Rivin disclosed in his article that the Cyclops outfit took four years to design. This really shows a degree of commitment, passion, and work not many Cosplayers could equal. Rivin also said he got assistance from several other artists and was not working alone in developing his Cyclops masterwork. Although he oversaw the costume design, he attributed the actual construction of the garment to @whitesheepleather. With design by Rivin himself and L Boldero, the visor model was credited to @maffhewdc and given to life by @do_you_even_cosplay.
Marvel Should Give Cyclops' X-Men: Evolution Design Some Serious Thought For Their Live-Action Inspiration
Should this fan's cosplay prove anything, Marvel should give great thought to basing future live-action films on the most iconic appearances of Cyclops. Using earlier animated designs has one benefit: Marvel already knows how viewers would see certain outfits, including Scott's X-Men: Evolution design, based on fan comments. Seeing these iconic drawings on film will probably be appreciated by fans, maybe more than brand-new ones produced for live-action versions. Although Rivin has proved that the X-Men: Evolution outfit for Cyclops would be an amazing fit for the MCU, is it the greatest one?
Over the years, the X-Men have witnessed different rosters. Still, one of its best rosters will always be from the 90s, and this Cosplay supports this.
Pitch Perfect Cosplay Gets Cyclops His MCU Costume
At a cosplay that brilliantly mimics a source material-based design everyone can agree is an inarguable classic, Cyclops at last gets the MCU outfit he deserves. This animation-to---live-action reconstruction will inspire die-hard fans to value the original artwork even more and might even cause some of them to urge that Marvel give this design top priority for further X-Men projects including Scott Summers.
Should this fan's cosplay indicate anything, Marvel should give great thought to basing future live-action films on Cyclops's most memorable appearances.
A cosplay ready for an MCU
Cosplayer Aaron Rivin posted his quite remarkable Cyclops outfit on Instagram. Along with red accents and Scott's trademark visor, the outfit employs the original yellow, blue, and black color palette of the X-Man. Inspired by character artist Steven Gordon's Cyclops design from X-Men: Evolution, his preferred interpretation of the character, Rivin said his costume drew on that.
Many fans will probably agree that this Scott Summers is among the best versions of the character and praise Rivin for a fantastic job turning this cartoon concept into a costume worthy of the MCU.
The Arrival of the X-Men
Many doubts remain about the X-Men even as they approach MCU membership, notably whether they will be sporting their recognizable costumes. With many speculating that their participation will be a long process, beginning with cameo appearances before gently moving into full-fledged films, fans are eager to see how the team will be treated in the MCU.
Marvel's prior attempts to bring other superhero teams to the big screen—including the Guardians of the Galaxy—showcase a fresh approach to the X-Men might be revolutionary. For Marvel aficionados, this is an amazing time to be thrilled about.
