Tosin Cole As Michael Lasaki
Born in New York, Tosin Cole moved to London at the age of eight. Cole's career has gone from strength to strength. Having begun his career with minor roles in British soap operas such as Hollyoaks and Holby City, Cole has subsequently featured in shows ranging from Doctor Who to the American legal drama 61st Street.
His filmography also includes appearances in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Bob Marley: One Love. Like many of the key characters in Supacell, Michael Lasaki is relatively normal, until the development of his superpowers. He is in a loving relationship with Dionne and lives in South London. This compels Michael to take action, setting the main events of Supacell in motion.
Adelayo Adedayo As Dionne
Born in London, Adelayo Adedayo has had an active film and TV career since her screen debut in a 2007 episode of the British crime procedural The Bill. Although she has appeared in three feature films to date, the majority of her work has been in television. High-profile projects include Timewasters (2017-19), The Capture, and The Responder, in which she starred opposite Martin Freeman.
Adelayo Adedayo was nominated for a BAFTA for her performance in The Responder. Michael's partner and love interest, Dionne is key in setting the events of Supacell in motion. Although the couple are committed to one another, Michael's nascent powers cause a rift in the relationship – made more complicated by the fact that he can foresee her fate and takes drastic steps to try and prevent it.
Nadine Mills As Sabrina
Although she has been acting since 2011, Supacell is only Nadine Mills' second TV credit. Much of her previous work has been in film, with appearances in projects such as Sable Fable, The Strangers, and The Pay Day. She also featured in two episodes of the 2019 series Sliced.
An NHS worker, Sabrina's world is turned upside down by the discovery of her powers. Gifted with the ability to move objects with her mind, she soon discovers that there are both positives and negatives to her abilities. However, while she initially thinks that the powers are a curse, she eventually comes to accept them and use them to her advantage.
Eric Kofi-Abrefa As Andre
One of the most experienced members of the Supacell Cast, Kofi-Abrefa has over 40 short-film, movie, and TV credits to his name – including some major Hollywood productions. Although he has minor credits in projects such as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Fury, he is best known for his work in the TV series Harlots, The One, and BMF, as well as a supporting role in the acclaimed movie Blue Story.
In many ways, Andre has the most tragic arc of all the Characters to develop superpowers in Supacell. Struggling to provide for his young son, Andre finds it difficult to find work thanks to a prior criminal conviction. As a result, he is conflicted about how best to use his gift of super strength – aware that it could both relieve his troubles and compromise his principles.
Calvin Demba As Rodney
Much like his Supacell costar Tosin Cole, Demba rose to prominence thanks to his recurring role on the British soap opera, Hollyoaks. After appearing in more than 80 episodes of the show, Demba has since expanded his career to include movies and further TV credits. Highlights include appearances in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Yardie, and Last Christmas, as well as the BBC drama Life.
One of the most mischievous of the Supacell characters to receive powers, Rodney also struggles with the temptation to use his abilities for personal gain. Gifted with super-speed, he is capable of moving almost impossibly fast – potentially extremely useful for someone with Rodney's street-smarts. However, while he is initially selfish, Rodney soon discovers something about power and responsibility.
Eddie Marsan As Ray
Probably the most recognizable member of the Supacell Cast, Eddie Marsan has enjoyed an extremely successful and distinguished career. Starting with minor roles in classic British TV series like The Bill and Eastenders, Marsan has since graduated to Hollywood, with credits such as Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes movies and Edgar Wright's The World's End. He has also continued his TV career, featuring in projects like Ray Donovan and The Power.
Ray is perhaps the most mysterious character in Supacell. An enigmatic figure, he is seen observing and monitoring the new heroes from afar, with seemingly little direct involvement. However, as the story develops, it becomes clear that he has more than a passing interest in the new status quo.
