The Boys Season 4: Homelander's Supe Army is a Big Deal
Homelander has a really dark ending in The Boys comics, and one scene in Season 4 is already setting this up. Homelander is a terrible dude in The Boys and has done some messed-up things, but the show is just barely scratching the surface of what he does in the comics. The comics end with a super crazy arc for Homelander, and Season 4, Episode 5 finally hints that the show might do it too.
The Boys Season 4 is finally out and has been releasing episodes on Amazon Prime Video. The Boys Season 4 picks up right where Season 3 left off, with the Boys trying to kill Victoria Neuman before she becomes Vice President, while Billy Butcher is secretly still trying to kill Homelander. Meanwhile, The Seven are investigating a leak on the team. Episode 5 sees them seemingly catch the source.
The Boys Season 4 Directly Sets Up Homelander's Supe Army
In The Boys comics, Homelander becomes like a fascist dictator, and he creates a huge army of superpowered people. By the end of the comics, Homelander goes to Washington D.C. with his supe army and tries to take over America, even killing the comic book version of Victoria Neuman. The Boys Season 4 has been teasing Homelander becoming President for a while now, but Episode 5 cemented his super army, the final piece that the storyline needs.
In the episode, Ashley and A-Train frame Cameron Coleman as the source of the leak. Homelander makes them bring Coleman to the top of Seven Tower, where he tells the rest of The Seven to kill him. The supes, without a second thought, beat him up and probably kill him. Homelander ordering them around could be a tease of him being the leader of a supe army, and Coleman's murder is like a smaller version of Homelander's takeover in the comics.
The Boys Season 4's Supe Army Tease Makes President Homelander Possible For Season 5
It was really popular to talk about Homelander running for President in Season 4, so it would be a scary thing if he was elected. Now that Season 4 is halfway done, it seems unlikely. However, Homelander's super army could set up a different way for him to become President. If Ashley and Neuman become President and Vice President, Homelander could lead his army to D.C. and have an uprising like in the comics.
He could then kill Neuman and Ashley, and take over the country. That way, he would be President without having to be elected, which would be a more believable story for The Boys. It would be just like other times that The Boys has changed from the comics, adapting the general idea but changing the details.
Homelander's Supe Army Makes Gen V Season 2 Way More Important
Homelander's supe army will totally change The Boys, but so will Gen V. This storyline makes Gen V Season 2 even more important. Episode 5 shows that Sam and Cate are part of Homelander's supe army. These two were students at Godolkin University, and led the riots there, which is where Homelander showed up and helped them.
Since Gen V will probably have Sam and Cate back, the new season could follow Marie and the rest as they try to stop their friends from following Homelander. Sam and Cate connect the two shows, so what happens in Season 4 of The Boys will probably change Gen V Season 2 too. Nobody knows how much Sam and Cate will be in the rest of The Boys Season 4, but even just Episode 5 has already had a big impact on Gen V.
