Who Is Strange Doctor in Ultimate Marvel?
Whoa, hold up. Strange Doctor is the new, and kind of spooky, Sorcerer Supreme in the Ultimate Universe! You are probably familiar with the OG Doctor Strange - the cool, magician in the Marvel Comics Universe. But this Strange Doctor - that's right, Doctor Strange's opposite - he's a completely new and slightly unsettling character, man.
Where Did This New Doctor Strange Come From?
This one is from a totally fresh Ultimate Universe. It's a whole new thing, like, a New Earth - an opposite Marvel Universe. The creators gave us totally new looks for Spider-Man, Black Panther, and the whole crew, you know! Now we've got this Strange Doctor popping up. And we're getting our first peek into who they might be in the Ultimate Black Panther #10!
Is the Maker Involved in All This?
It's hard to say right now. The Maker (aka Reed Richards in this new Universe) is trying to totally make over his version of the world - a whole new, alternate Earth! It sounds scary, as he's not making a hero-filled world! He really is out to win! The creators have this whole idea that the Maker wants a world without heroes to rule over!
And this is why Strange Doctor might be a problem. If the Maker did take control of Magic to keep the whole universe in check, a new Sorcerer Supreme - with all that magical power could be a total problem! So maybe that’s what Strange Doctor is - he might just be there to mess things up a little. He’s a bit scary, with that cool "Strange Doctor" name - kind of like, an opposite of the Sorcerer Supreme we're familiar with!
Could This Be the First of the New Ultimate Characters?
This is what makes the new Ultimate series so amazing! It's crazy that we've already gotten totally new versions of heroes we thought we knew. Who would have thought, it looks like we're about to get a total overhaul of one of Marvel’s biggest power positions!
But it does raise a serious question - since it hasn't been confirmed by Marvel Comics yet. We still need a clear-cut confirmation if they actually gave the Ultimate Universe its very own Sorcerer Supreme.
But Why is It Important To Have A Sorcerer Supreme in This World?
Think about the role it plays. The Sorcerer Supreme usually does a lot of heavy lifting. It sounds serious and awesome. The Sorcerer Supreme has always been super important to keeping magical things in check, and in the Marvel Universe they have this major responsibility to stop anything super bad - that includes a threat that might come from another dimension! The power behind the position makes this new Strange Doctor an instant fan favorite.
- But since Ultimate has a different way of looking at heroes - a bit more twisted and weird, too. You have to wonder how Strange Doctor fits into the Maker's plans.
