Shawn Levy Almost Directed The Flash
Before The Flash movie hit the big screen, Shawn Levy was in the running to direct it. The DCEU went through several directors for The Flash before Andy Muschietti took over. The multiverse story that The Flash told could have been in the hands of Shawn Levy.
Shawn Levy talked about almost directing The Flash in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He stated that he was close to directing the movie for a brief period of time. Levy did not go into details about why he did not end up directing the movie. He is currently working on Deadpool & Wolverine. Levy mentioned that he always looks for a story that is worth telling before he takes on a project.
How Shawn Levy Directing The Flash Could Have Changed Marvel & DC
The Flash started filming in 2021 and finished long before Deadpool & Wolverine began production. If Shawn Levy had directed The Flash, he could have worked on both projects. Muschietti's work on The Flash led him to become the director of The Brave and the Bold. The Brave and the Bold is part of the Dc Universe's Batman reboot.
If Levy had directed The Flash, he could have also been in charge of the Dc Universe's Batman reboot. This could have stopped him from taking on Deadpool & Wolverine. The DCU movie could have started sooner as Muschietti is currently working on Welcome to Derry. Levy could have easily adapted The Flash story as he has experience with multiverse stories in Deadpool & Wolverine.
