Nightwing's New Power
Nightwing, the former Robin, has a new power that will change how he approaches crime-fighting in DC Comics. The recent issue of Batman: The Brave and the Bold revealed that Dick Grayson now possesses a new "sixth sense" allowing him to see and interact with spirits, or at least Deadman.
Nightwing Magic
Nightwing's ability to see spirits is a first in DC Comics, making him a new type of magic user within the DC Universe. This new ability could make him a more powerful and complex character and also expand his fighting skills to deal with other superheroes and villains in different and creative ways.
Nightwing Deadman Connection
This new power is linked to Deadman. Boston Brand, the ghost superhero, has given Dick a golden coin which serves as a conduit between the two. As long as the coin remains with Nightwing, he will be able to see and interact with Deadman. Deadman himself is a classic character in DC Comics, known for his ability to possess the bodies of the living. This new connection to Nightwing could create a dynamic team for the future.
Nightwing's Sixth Sense
Nightwing's new Sixth Sense could lead to him being able to see all spirits. While it's currently unclear whether Nightwing can only see Deadman or other spirits, the coin he holds has been used to pay the ferryman, meaning its power might allow Nightwing to interact with other realms.
Nightwing's Sixth Sense Origin
This new power is introduced in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold comic book series but the power’s connection to Dick's parents, and the superstition about the circus, will likely have a bigger impact in future Nightwing comics by Tom Taylor.
Nightwing's Sixth Sense Return
The new ability introduced in Batman: The Brave and the Bold may be an ongoing aspect in the main Nightwing series. There are hints that the power may reappear in Nightwing #116, due to the cover art that features Deadman.
DC Comics: Expanding Power Sets
DC Comics has a rich history of introducing new characters and powers into the franchise. This expansion of magic for Nightwing, through his newfound connection with Deadman, suggests more magical elements may become relevant in the DC Comics universe, offering exciting opportunities to explore the complexities and possibilities of these abilities.
