The Power Of Master Indara: One To Be Counted With
Although the Jedi have always been renowned for their strong bond to the Force, the most recent episode of Star Wars: The Acolyte reveals just how influential one Master can be.
In "Choice," the reality of the Jedi's activities on Brendok comes clear. Although Master Sol had good intentions, his emotional attachment to Osha drove a sequence of dangerous decisions that resulted in the deaths of every coven of witches. But Master Indara is a force to be reckoned with.
Master Indara: An Natural Force
Carrie-Anne Moss's Master Indara has always been a powerful presence. Strong and deliberate, she battled Mae precisely to save the lives of innocent people. In "Choice," though, her actual strength comes to light.
The witches' power easily influences Sol, Torbin, and Kelnacca; Master Indara stays unmoved. She understands the Jedi Council has to be notified since she finds fighting the coven useless. She resists the power of the whole coven in the middle of turmoil, so releasing Kelnacca from their control without losing her own autonomy.
Master Indara has a quite amazing relationship to the Force. She can even subvert the influence of the coven since she is so in touch with it. She can thus survive their onslaught and save Kelnacca.
An Act with Force
Master Indara's ability goes beyond mere opposition to the coven to include eradicating their affiliation to the Force. She kills all of the coven when she releases Kelnacca, so severing their relationship to their magic.
In a past episode, Mother Aniseya said of the Force, "Thread." By severing the coven's ties to the Force and one another, Master Indara's acts rip that Thread apart and bring about their collapse.
Although Master Indara's goals might not have been to kill the whole coven, it emphasizes the great power a well-trained and emotionally balanced Jedi Master can carry. Although the coven was strong, Master Indara's ties to the Force are even more remarkable.
Disney+ hosts the season finale of The Acolyte, which highlights the ongoing strength and power of the Jedi—especially Master Indara—as they negotiate the shadowy High Republic.
