Is Jessica Knight Leaving NCIS Season 22?
Looks like Jessica Knight is out. If she does take on her new job at NCIS, the main couple of NCIS - Jimmy and Knight, will break up, because of long-distance relationships!
Is There a Reason for Knight Leaving?
- It's the long-distance thing. NCIS didn't really write her out! It's not the first time this happened, either!
- The head honcho of NCIS gave Knight her dream job at the end of Season 21 - a job she always wanted, but to take it, she'd have to relocate from Washington DC to someplace else!
Did Knight Break Up with Palmer?
It's a whole love story mess. Palmer totally freaked out, and it kind of pushed her away, so they are no longer together! Now, things seem pretty messed up, but she said yes to that new job, which is pretty much confirmed, and she's no longer in DC, making long-distance almost impossible.
Is This a Typical NCIS Trend?
- They really should have known that would be a problem!
- Sadly, for 17 whole years, NCIS had this thing about breaking up a couple, mainly because the female character has to leave the show.
The truth is that most of the romantic couples, especially in those super intense situations the NCIS team deals with - have split up because a character needed to be removed!
Who Else Broke Up Because They Left the Show?
- Hollis Mann (season 5) - she left to take care of Gibbs after he almost died!
- Ziva David (season 11)- it broke all NCIS fans' hearts when she didn't come back to Tony and stayed abroad.
- Then, it happened to Gibbs (again). He and Jack Sloane stayed in touch after their big relationship, but they did break up because she went back to Afghanistan.
- They really pulled that move with Bishop, who said goodbye to Nick in season 18, because she got sent off to be undercover.
There are so many romantic moments - but they didn’t have a happy ending - for the NCIS cast, or their relationships!
The NCIS team is amazing for working so closely with each other, dealing with murders and all sorts of wild criminal cases! But that drama never stops.
They gave us all the clues for Palmer and Knight to have this cool romance - their relationship has had a lot of screentime and those cool moments - so if they're saying goodbye for real, we’re gonna be feeling heartbroken - we can only hope that it’s not forever!
