The inspired story line of The New Gate accentuates the sad goodbyes to come.
Though an apparently less significant character than Shin's beloved Schnee, Girart's story is poignant because the moment they see each other for the first time in The New Gate, their reunion essentially acts as one long final goodbye with no other conclusion except Shin having to perform an unimaginable task – ending Girart's life. This whole sad situation is mixed; more practically, it is made more effective story-wise as Girart requested it and would grant him the only wish he had left after his artificially prolonged life. The fact that the show also hinted at the fact that Girart lived as long as he did out of a need for that wish to be fulfilled put even more significance on Shin satisfying this sad request for his friend, despite the clear cost it would eventually incur on Shin.
If Shin had never had this past relationship with Girart and had instead entirely borrowed from In The Land of Leadale, this entire dynamic wouldn't have been as successful. Worse even, the show also hints at an even more sad rendition of these events with Schnee, a character Shin loves most definitely. Her being the first of these virtual personalities viewers learn about and the first Shin reconnects with in the anime only heightens the general expectation, particularly since viewers will be aware of what will come for a longer amount of time. Unlike Girart, who was already dying, Schnee is an elf who already lives longer than most species, and Shin is choosing to leave her when she is still alive with conscience.
The New Gate spins Kirito and Asuna's relationship in a darker direction.
Ironically, save from the clear correlation in the premise, this relationship is the only other link to Sword Art Online. Since Shin was caught in a game and could only leave if a specific boss was defeated, most fans first related The New Gate to SAO. But as the plot revolves on events following every player's ability to log off except for him, the real events of the anime deviate entirely from SAO.
Since Shin only talks about going back home, the plot eventually returned to its SAO influences via this indicated insight. The sad irony is that, as Asuna was also a human actor in SAO, Kirito could still encounter her after leaving Aincrad. Schnee is a product of the game in The New Gate; she will be left behind once Shin gets home. The New Gate's interpretation of these occurrences differs greatly from Kirito's struggle with the possibility that Asuna the avatar and Asuna the human might be two different people. More importantly, it is more closely tied to the whole special circumstance from The Land of Leadale, The New Gate's actual forerunner.
New Isekai Anime exceeds simply a SAO Successor in scope.
Alert: Spoilers for The New Gate episode #8 abound here. Though the main idea is based on SAO's Aincrad arc, Crunchyroll subscribers have been stating in the comments section of The New Gate that this new Isekai Anime series is the actual successor to Sword Art Online and even though The New Gate just delivered an amazing story that follows more closely with another series called In The Land of Leadale.
Viewers of The New Gate familiar with In The Land of Leadale have been following all the tales concerning the virtual characters the gamer Shin produced in the VMMORPG. Like him, the gamer protagonist in The Land of Leadale developed her own supporting cast who then had to live without her once she "disappeared" for hundreds of years. Therefore, how their creations have lived over this period becomes a fascinating aspect of each individual anime even by the time both of these characters return as overpowered heroes.
The New Gate Anime: an Original Isekai Experience
Shin at last sees the second of his creations, Girart, in The New Gate episode #8; the narrative that unfolds there cannot have been more sadly contradictory. Combining fantasy, adventure, and a little sorrow, the New Gate is a singular Isekai Anime. The show centers Shin, a gamer caught in a virtual reality MMORPG known as "The New Gate." Examining the forebears of the New Gate Anime
With its idea of a gamer caught in a virtual reality MMORPG, The New Gate makes parallels with another well-known isekai anime, Sword Art Online. Still, the show also has components of another isekai anime, In The Land of Leadale. Particularly the sad farewells and the awareness of their own death, Shin's dynamic with his virtual creations reflects the relationships investigated in The Land of Leadale.
Offering a special mix of features from various well-known isekai series, the intriguing isekai anime The New Gate is The series distinguishes itself from other isekai anime by its openness to investigate the emotional complexity of its characters, the effects of virtual reality on relationships, and the results of our activities inside a digital environment.

## The Boys Season 4: New Powers of The Deep Expressed
Returning in The Boys Season 4, The Deep has some new powers far more sinister than his past underwater prowess. Developed by Vought's abandonment, the Deep's newfound powers reflect both the good and the evil of The Boys' world.
### The New Power of Deep explained: the "Aqua-Vision" ability
One of the seven teams of superheroes meant to be the most strong in the universe, The Deep initially showed in The Boys Season 1. After his sexual assault allegations were made public, the Deep was obliged to apologize in front of the entire globe and was accountable for several offenses. After he was ostracized by his fellow Supes, the Deep left Vought and was forced to develop new powers to make up for being "useless" without the Vought-developed Compound V. Though the Deep was ridiculed for his first aquatic ability, he seems to have achieved some success.
### How New Powers of The Deep Work
The "deep dive" he undertook to discover a fresh approach to be helpful produced Aqua-Vision, the new power of The Deep. By staring into their eyes and "diving deep," this skill lets him see into other people's brains. The Deep doesn't seem to have any control over this power, and it's shown to make him physically ill when he uses it, but he is willing to use it to regain a position of power.
## How The Deep's New Powers Relate to Themes Of The Boys
The Deep's new power is a reflection of the show's central themes, which include the dangers of unchecked power and the corruption that lies beneath the surface of the "hero" world. Although The Deep shows what occurs when a Supe abuses their authority, his new skills mirror how Vought shapes its heroes. The Deep, who was initially mocked by his peers for being weak, discovered the power of mental manipulation and how to take control of people's minds with his new powers. This capacity reminds us that people who pursue authority will most likely use it in the most terrible ways available.
## The Deep's New Powers and the Future of The Boys
The Deep's new powers are a terrifying addition to the The Boys universe. They raise the stakes, making The Deep a formidable opponent, but also a deeply disturbing figure. While the Deep previously relied on his aquatic powers, his new ability to read people's minds represents a far greater threat. It has the potential to be used for good, but it's more likely to be used for manipulation and control. How will the Deep's new powers play out in the remaining episodes of The Boys season 4? Will his new powers ultimately lead to his redemption or his downfall? These are just some of the questions that fans are eager to see answered.
