The Spinoff Everyone's Talking About
So, Young Sheldon is over. Cue sad trombone. But don't worry, The Big Bang Theory prequel isn't leaving us hanging. Cbs is clever, they've cooked up a new show that's essentially Young Sheldon 2.0 - Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, starring Montana Jordan and Emily Osment.
This new show picks up where Young Sheldon left off, with Georgie and Mandy navigating life as young parents and newlyweds. They've got their hands full with Baby Cece, and it looks like there's going to be plenty of comedic chaos along the way.
First Look at the Set
Producer Steph Spetrino dropped a behind-the-scenes peek at the Warner Bros. sound stage where Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage is being filmed. You can see the iconic The Big Bang Theory set, but it's got a fresh new look - all decked out for Georgie and Mandy's story.
Spetrino even snapped a photo of the parking spots, which have been painted with "GMFM" - a cute little nod to the show's title. Looks like things are getting real.
A Multi-Camera Comedy
Prepare yourself for a major format shift! Young Sheldon was a single-camera show, so no Live Audience and a little more room for drama. Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage is going multi-camera, just like The Big Bang Theory, with a live audience and, gasp, Canned Laughter.
This change is going to make for a different kind of humor, and it'll be interesting to see how it affects the storylines. The show is going to be all about those big, relatable moments of life as a young family, but with a laugh track and a Live Audience to add to the energy.
A Big Bang Theory Legacy?
The good news is that even though the Coopers aren't series regulars, many of the creative folks behind Young Sheldon are still on board for Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. That's a good sign, especially since these creatives also worked on The Big Bang Theory.
With the success of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, expectations are high for this new show. If it lives up to the hype, we're in for a whole lot of laughs.
