Why Does One Piece Season 2's Zoro's Loguetown Sword Scene Matter?

Sandai Kitetsu's curse is not referenced for the great bulk of the One Piece narrative. But Chapter #1117 supports a long-held belief that the main villain Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, one of One Piece's Five Elders, also carries a Kitetsu sword, most likely the forerunner of Zoro's own Kitetsu. Drawing a direct link to the absolute worst enemies of One Piece, Zoro's Sandai Kitetsu pulls him more into the vast legacy of the series. Moreover, using a Kitetsu sword makes Nusjuro a logical rival for Zoro, giving the fan-favorite swordsman another fated combat beyond only One Piece's inevitable Mihawk rematch. Netflix passing over the season 2 introduction for the sword would be a grave injustice.
Zoro Getting New Swords Will Be An Important Character Moment In One Piece Season 2
Even without the link to Nusjuro, it might be argued that Zoro's purchase of Sandai Kitetsu in Loguetown signals a turning point in Netflix's live-action One Piece just cannot overlook in season 2.
