Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 to Cover Leif's America Journey But Has Major Issue.

Valhalla Season Three Will See Leif Traveling To America

Historians claim that Leif Erikson arrived on continental America first among European immigrants, far ahead of Christopher Columbus.

Vikings: Valhalla has not been totally historically accurate even if it is based on genuine individuals and events. Though one of the primary characters on the show, Vikings: Valhalla has not properly honored Leif and his legacy. Real Leif Erikson was a Norse adventurer born of Erik the Red, the man who established the first Norse colony in Greenland. Historians say Leif Erikson arrived on continental America first among European immigrants, far ahead of Christopher Columbus. Erikson founded a Norse colony in Vinland, now coastal North America, although depending on the source, his path there alters.

How Leif's Travel Might Combine Two Viking TV Series

Though Vikings: Valhalla will be forced to alter Leif's most significant narrative and legacy by Floki and Ubbe's arrival in North America, both series will profit much from their presence. After the end of Vikings, Floki, Ubbe, and their colony remain unknown; Valhalla will have to deal with this when Leif in America. Ubbe's colony might have been short-lived or they might have merged into the Mi'kmaq tribe and left no documentation of their existence. Though Vikings supporters will know the truth, this would let Leif take credit as the first European to land in America.

Whatever Vikings: Valhalla chooses to do with Leif's arrival and Floki and Ubbe's legacy in America is the best way to really unite shows. Though there are already links between both shows, Emma of Normandy, a direct descendent of Rollo, Floki and Ubbe's arrival in America and Leif's path can be the strongest link between both shows, regardless of how Leif's legacy is altered or explained.

Valhalla Season 3 Will Close The Stories Of Harald, Freydis, and Leif.

Valhalla Season 3 will end the tales of Harald (Leo Suter), Freydis (Frida Gustavsson), and Leif (Sam Corlett) and ultimately cover the most significant story of the latter, but it will also be confronting one major issue resulting from the first Vikings TV show. The popularity of the historical drama TV show Vikings resulted in its development with a sequel called Vikings: Valhalla. Though Valhalla is set over 100 years after the events of Vikings' last season, thus even if Ragnar, Lagertha, and Rollo's legacy is honored, the series follows different individuals instead than carrying on the narratives of the surviving Vikings.

Vikings: Valhalla has mostly focused on their clashes with the English as well as the tension between Vikings with pagan beliefs and those who have converted to Christianity. While Leif and Harald at last arrived in Constantinople, Freydis returned to Kattegat with her baby son and signed a peace contract with Queen Aelfgifu after murdering Olaf at Jomsborg. Leif inherited Mariam's books and more, which will be useful for his next trips; the first teaser for Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 confirms Leif will make his most crucial trip, but one major issue.

Vikings Found Floki in America First.

Vikings season six shocked audiences by showing Floki had fled the cave and, somehow, arrived in North America.

Knowing there was something else beyond what they knew, Ragnar Lothbrok talked about his intentions to see other countries during his stay with Vikings. Sadly, Ragnar passed before he could realize that desire; nevertheless, his best buddy Floki and subsequently his son Ubbe did it for him. Vikings season five had Floki stranded in a cave beneath an active volcano, thought to be dead at the conclusion; season six shocked viewers by showing he had survived and, somehow, made it to North America.

The True Leo Erikson

Real Leif Erikson had a sister, Freydis and two brothers, Thorstein and Thorvald.

Erikson sailed out to Greenland to bring Christianity there in the Saga of Erik the Red after spending time at the court of Norwegian King Olaf Tryggvesson and converting to Christianity. But he veered off course and arrived in Vinland, then known as this, where he and his men discovered wild grapes on otherwise uninhabited territory. Bjarni Herjólfsson, the first European to reach Vinland in the Saga of the Greenlanders, did not land but rather kept on sail. Leif organized an expedition toward the territory Bjarni had detailed around 15 years later. Neither version has him ever going back to Vinland.

Valhalla: The Final Voyage – Vikings

Vikings: Valhalla, set in the early 11th century almost a thousand years ago, follows the valiant exploits of some of the most well-known Vikings ever recorded. From Kattegat to England and beyond, these three Vikings start an epic journey that will take them across seas and across battlefields as they fight for survival and glory as tensions between the Vikings and the English royals reach a bloody breaking point and as the Vikings themselves clash over their conflicting Christian and pagan beliefs.

With its third season ending Valhalla, Netflix's Vikings will have to address some significant questions left by the past seasons.
