"Heartbreaking": Stranger Things Star Shares Emotional Response To Final Season Filming
Maya Hawke, who stars as Robin Buckley in Stranger Things, offers her opinions on shooting the last season of the venerable Netflix show. Filmed in 2018 and launched in 2019, Hawke debuted as Robin Buckley in season 3. Quickly rising to be a fan favorite, Robin returned to take front stage in season 4. Hawke will also be part of Stranger Things season 5 as Robin and her pals face the perils presented by Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and the Upside Down.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet of her newest film, Inside Out 2, Hawke revealed her emotional response to filming Stranger Things Season 5 and her personal thoughts of ending Robin's tale and the series overall. She also spoke on her special position as an actor who joined the series later and her wish to be helpful to the cast members who have been on the show since its first season, which started filming in 2015 and debuted on Netflix in 2016. Here are Hawke's remarks:
For Stranger Things Season 5, what is Robin In Store For?
Like most of Stranger Things' characters, season five will see Robin negotiating her personal connections while also battling to rescue the planet. She has been essential in exposing plots and confronting the risks of the Upside Down since her season three introduction. Along with her friends in season five, particularly with those closest to her—Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer)—this should remain at the core of the struggle.
In season 4, Robin and Nancy looked at the Creel murders and how they related to the Upside Down's mysteries, which highlighted their separate and combined skills and the experience brought them closer. Robin bonded with her crush Vickie ( amybeth McNulty) at the end of the Stranger Things season 4. While the Upside Down threatens to swallow Hawkins and the planet, there might not be much time for dating; but, Robin and Vickie have opportunity to start a relationship. First confirmed LGBTQ+ character for the program was Robin, and Vickie and Robin would be the first LGBTQ+ couple on it.
Stranger Things: Examining More closely a Popular Show
Inspired by pop-culture of the 1980s and Stephen King's novels, Stranger Things is a supernatural action-drama TV series set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. When a small child disappears, his pals come upon a young girl with telekinetic abilities who lately fled an unidentified facility. They quickly come to see she might be their only opportunity to avoid an approaching catastrophe threatening to swallow Hawkins whole.
Stranger Things has evolved into a cherished series with several layers to the narrative; the several layers of the show give every season an interesting perspective. As it ends its last season, this program is likely to keep viewers interested with an outstanding ensemble cast and riveting plot.
Stranger Things's Close Friends: Robin
Hawke has said before that she feels "mixed" about Robin acquiring a girlfriend, feeling representation is essential, but also that a character shouldn't be defined mostly by their romantic life and that she values the examination of Robin's connections with other characters. She grew good friends with Steve and Dustin in season 3, then in season 4 she bonded with Nancy and the recently dead Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn). While Robin bonds with other major people she hasn't spent much time with in past seasons, Stranger Things season five can keep examining these friendships.
