Idris Elba's Hijack Features Three Major Stars As Filming for Season 2 Begins
Beginning production on season 2, the Idris Elba-led thriller series Hijack has recruited three big stars to its ensemble. The first season of the Thriller series tracked Elba's Sam Nelson, a corporate negotiator who develops into a major player in negotiations with hijackers aboard a Dubai to London jet. After the plane safely landed, Hijack season 1 came to a close. Sam and Stuart, the primary hijacker, then had a last confrontation resulting in Stuart's detention. Still, a lot of doubts remain regarding the group that planned the attack first hand.
Three big stars will be joining Hijack Season 2, which is already under production in the UK, according to Deadline. All joining as series regular, Toby Jones ( Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Lisa Vicari (Dark), and Christiane Paul ( FBI: International). The characters they will be portraying are not yet revealed; the plot for season 2 is likewise unknown as of writing.
Expect from Hijack Season 2?
Over seven episodes, Hijack season 1 ran through one real-time hour of the flight Sam was on. The flight landed in the final episode, hence it's not obvious if this emphasis on time passing will carry into season 2. If it occurs, it might be the outcome of another race against time Elba's character becomes embroiled in, most likely a fresh plan by the same organization who stole the fight. Depending on how he gets engaged, this could personalize the next confrontation.
Given that Hijack season 2 will be a straight follow-up, it will probably feature a lot of returning characters who were crucial in the last episodes. This could call for Sam's ex-wife Marsha, her boyfriend Daniel, and the son of the main character Kai. Considering the hardships his family endured while he was in the heavens, it would make logical for them to return in some capacity, perhaps including ongoing prominent roles. Regarding the villains, given how much remains unresolved, they appear assured to resurface.
Executive Producer Elba
Elba produced Hijack on an executive level. George Kay is the riveting series's showrunner. Elba obviously has a great passion for the part since this is a well-known show. The show emphasizes a range of topics that would grab viewers' interest. The production crew is surely doing their best to keep the caliber of the show. The show is much more interesting because of its superb cast as well.
Created for Apple TV by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, the writers of Criminal, Hijack is a thriller. Idris Elba plays Sam Nelson, a commercial negotiator caught in a seven-hour aircraft plane hijacking headed to London. Sam will try to diffuse the crisis and save the passengers on board by applying his negotiating talents and ground-based assistance from a counterterrorism officer.
A Broad View of Season 2
Hijack's cast is slated to grow, so it seems the second season's narrative will be far more extensive and cover than the prior ones did. This will cause the narrative to be far more erratic than it would have been had it began, exactly as it is now presented. Now that the show is under recording, though, it could not be long before more responses to what to expect are at last exposed.
