Tom Brooke Appears In The Slough House Control Room
Apple TV+'s Slow Horses main team is getting a new face in season 4. Behind-the-scenes photos have dropped, seemingly confirming the arrival of a new team member. The Slough House team has experienced major changes in the past three Slow Horses seasons. It has become pretty clear that several characters, like Slow Horses season 3's Louisa Guy, have either left the team or tragically died. So, lineup changes shouldn't be surprising, however, recent Slow Horses storylines make new arrivals quite unusual.
Even though Slow Horses is all about jeopardy and real-life danger, the team hasn't undergone major changes in the most recent seasons. Aside from Slow Horses season 2's Min Harper's death and Standish's decision to leave the team, the Slow Horses team has remained consistent. But, the newest season has hinted at a major change that is on its way.
Who Tom Brooke Could Be Playing In Slow Horses Season 4
English actor Tom Brooke is set to feature in Slow Horses Season 4. While his involvement was announced prior to the release of the behind-the-scenes photos, the images reveal that he's not just playing a minor role. Instead, Tom Brooke looks to become a core member of the Slough House team.
One of the biggest indications of Brooke's new role is that he is right there with the rest of the team in the Slough House control room. Alongside Louisa Guy, Marcus Longridge, and Shirley Dander, Brooke is staring at something on Roddy's work station screen. In the past, only core team members have been granted such proximity to the work. This means that Brooke's character is a new addition to the team, not just a casual passerby.
Tom Brooke's Character Is The Shakeup Slow Horses Needs
The Slow Horses characters are very well-liked by fans, so any potential changes could be risky. But, while the interactions between the characters is what makes the show so popular, Slow Horses needs a fresh face. Since the major changes from seasons 1 to 2, the team has pretty much stayed the same. It would have become stale if the same characters kept appearing, no matter how much they work together. Brooke's introduction prevents this.
If Tom Brooke is playing J.K. Coe, his arrival will be a great way to shake things up. With the rest of the Slough House team being so familiar with each other after many adventures together, a potentially abrasive personality could be a great way to get the characters out of their comfort zones. If Coe does turn out to be "probably a psychopath", this could be the perfect way to revitalize the Slow Horses team.
