Abrams signed on as executive producers; Ed Brubaker, the writer of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Westworld (2016), will head writer for the DC animated series.
Originally scheduled to premiere on HBO Max, the show was canceled before it ever aired as Warner Bros. Discovery was changing the slate and postponing numerous initiatives in August 2021. But Amazon Prime has now acquired the series for at least two seasons (via Empire). The show is meant to serve as a spiritual follow-up for Batman: The Animated Series from 1992. Hamish Linklater As Bruce Wayne/Batman
Born in New York City, New York, Hamish Linklater broke big in The New Adventures of Old Christine in 2006 as Matthew Kimble. Linklater has had a range of little but noteworthy roles over his career. He won his largest part thus far in the Mike Flanagan limited Netflix series in 2021, as Father Paul. He has also temporarily entered the realm of Voice Acting, where his remarkable vocal range qualifies him as a strong fit for The Caped Crusader.
Linklater will be playing Batman/Bruce Wayne in the lead part for the forthcoming show. With scores of adaptations and versions of the character created since his debut appearance in Detective Comics #27 in 1939, Batman is among the most well-known Superheros of all time. The dual role gives Linklater a chance to highlight his skills as both a laid-back socialite and a tough vigilante applying his own form of justice.
Christina Ricci as Selina Kyle's catwoman/companion
Born in Santa Monica, California, Christina Ricci broke huge in The Addams Family in 1991 playing Wednesday Addams. Early in her career, Ricci excelled in dark and unconventional parts such Wednesday in The Addams Family and Kat in Casper. She kept working in TV and movies as she developed, but her incredible performances on shows like Wednesday and Yellowjackets lately helped her to have a big comeback.
Christina Ricci will cost Selina Kyle, sometimes known as Catwoman, in Batman: Caped Crusader. Kyle is a burglar with a very flirty relationship to Batman. Though Kyle should not be trusted, Kyle and Wayne do have a spark and sometimes find a way to put their disagreements aside and cooperate despite their opposing ends of the moral compass.
deceased Bader As Two-Face/Harvey Dent
Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Diedrich Bader hit big at Danger Theatre in 1993 as The Searcher. Early success for Bader came from guest parts in comic shows like Cheers and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but his vocals have lately proved to be more successful. Bader has even been Batman's voice in animated films like Harley Quinn, but he will be playing Harvey Dent, nicknamed Two-Face in the forthcoming series, which presents a fresh challenge.
Character: Harvey Dent once held great regard as a district attorney. But he pursued a life of crime after an incident left him permanently scarred on his face. One of the more sophisticated and cerebral enemies Batman encounters is Two-Face, and with Bader helming playing the part, he will probably be a significant problem for the title hero.
Harley Quinn, Jamie Chung As
Born in San Francisco, California, Jamie Chung broke big in 2012 for her Nima performance in Premium Rush. With a broad range of roles—including some voice acting— Chung has had tremendous success in Hollywood. Her background in more dramatic roles and action parts will help her to bring Harley Quinn to life in Batman: Caped Crusader.
Doctor Harleen Quinzel employed herself as a psychiatrist at the Arkham Asylum. But her contacts with the Joker drove her to grow infatuated and committed to the clown-faced evil. She therefore altered to become Harley Quinn, a difficult competitor of Batman and one of the most dangerous and destructive followers of the Joker.
